Nicola Alaimo - Neri Chiaramantesi
One of the leading artists of his generation, Nicola Alaimo recently gained great
success as Bartolo in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Opéra National de Paris,
new production by Damiano Michieletto.
A reference performer of Rossini roles, Nicola Alaimo made his debut at the Rossini
Opera Festival in 2010 singing La Cenerentola, returning then for Il barbiere
di Siviglia (2011), Matilde di Shabran(2012), Guillaume Tell
(2013), La Gazzetta and a solo recital (2015).
Mr. Alaimo has been regularly invited in prestigious theatre such as Metropolitan
Opera in New York, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and Opéra in Paris, Deutsche Oper
in Berlin, Salzburg Festival, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Opéra de Monte Carlo,
Teatro Real de Madrid, Opera in Rome, Teatro Regio in Turin working with conductors
as Maurizio Benini, Bruno Campanella, Paolo Carignani, Daniele Gatti, James Levine,
Michele Mariotti, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Alberto Zedda, just to name a few.
Nicola Alaimo’s plans include: I Puritani in Madrid with Evelino Pidò in
the production signed by Emilio Sagi; La Traviata at the Covent Garden in
London with Yves Abel; Simon Boccanegra (title role) in Antwerp and Luxemburg;
Don Quichotte (Sancho Panza) at the Lyric Opera in Chicago; Il Trovatore
and I Masnadieri in Monte Carlo; Il Turco in Italia and a Gala concert
at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro; Mahler’s Lieder eines Fahrenden Gesellen
at the Auditorium Manzoni in Bologna with Michele Mariotti; Don Pasquale
in Vienna (Wiener Staatsoper); Rigoletto at the Opéra in Marseille, Paolo Arrivabeni
conducting; L’Italiana in Algeri and other important future productions at
the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
