Following recent critically-acclaimed performances at the Salzburg Festival (Dandini,
La Cenerentola), at the Rossini Opera Festival, Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie
Brussels, at the Concertgebow in Amsterdam and Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro
(Guillaume Tell - title role), at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan (Don
Pasquale - title role; Rimbaud, Comte Ory), at the Teatro dell’Opera
in Rome (Attila, Ezio, cond. Riccardo Muti and Don Pasquale,
cond. Bruno Campanella), in London (Belisario - title role, recorded by Opera
Rara) at the Opéra de Paris (Dandini, La Cenerentola; Fra Melitone, La Forza
del Destino), at the Teatro Real de Madrid (Don Pasquale, cond. Riccardo
Muti), at the Teatro Regio in Turin (Gérmont, Traviata), at the Opéra de
Monte Carlo (Stankar, Stiffelio cond. Maurizio Benini), at the Metropolitan
Opera ( Falstaff, cond. James Levine, L’Elisir d’Amore, cond. Maurizio
Benini), in Berlin (L’Elisir d’Amore) Nicola Alaimo returns to the Opéra
Royal de Wallonie in Liège.
Future plans include: Le Nozze di Figaro in Los Angeles; Simon Boccanegra
(Paolo) at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona opposite Placido Domingo in the
title role; Don Quichotte at the Lyric Opera in Chicago, Yannis Kokkos directing;
Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Paris; La Traviata in London; Il Trovatore
and Guillaume Tell in Monte Carlo; Guillaume Tell on tour in Paris
with the Opéra de Monte Carlo; La Gazzetta at the Rossini Opera Festival
in Pesaro; he will also star in Zaza concert and recording for Opera Rara
in London and in other important future productions at the Metropolitan Opera in
New York. Mr. Alaimo will star as Sir John Falstaff at the Teatro alla Scala in
Milan and in Marseille.

Cristina Melis - Federica
Winner of the International Lyric Contest “Giacomo Lauri Volpi” and the International
Contest “Giuseppe Verdi” in Parma, Cristina Melis debuted as Azucena in Il Trovatore
in Parma. She recently performed in Ravel’s L’Enfant et Sortileges under
Yves Abel at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, where she also starred in Schumann’s
Manfred under the baton of Michele Mariotti and in La Gioconda (La
Cieca). It is worth mentioning her collaboration with the Arena in Verona, where
she performed in Carmen, Traviata, Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette and
in a series of concerts on tour in Europe (Madrid, London, Brussels, Berlin, Düsseldorf).
She made her debut as Cenerentola and as Isabella in L’Italiana in Algeri
at the Teatro Regio in Turin, as Carmen in Bergamo, as Azucena in Il Trovatore
and Amneris in Aida in Parma, Fenena in Nabucco on tour in Italy.
Cristina Melis recently sang Il Trovatore and Madama Butterfly at
the Opera in Kiel, El Amor Brujo in Cagliari, Evgenij Onegin and Bruckner’s
Te Deum at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna. Mrs. Melis collaborated with such
conductors as Bartoletti, Beltrami, Gatti, Wilson, Dinic, Campanella, Rizzi, Carella,
De Bernart, Oren, Conlon, Armiliato, Mariotti, Kovatchev, Arrivabeni, R. Abbado,
Jurowski and directors such as De Ana, Zeffirelli, Micheli, Sammaritani, Pier’Alli,
Trelinski.
Plans include: Olga in Eugenij Onegin and Adriano in Rienzi at the
Opernhaus in Kiel.
