Gezim Myshketa - Gianni Schicchi
Young Albanian baritone Gezim Myshketa is one of the most promising artists of
his generation. After his debut as Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro, he won
the AsLiCo competition in 2006 (making his role debut as both Don Giovanni and
Leporello in Don Giovanni) and the "Francesco Paolo Tosti" Competition in
Ortona in 2008. Interesting collaborations have followed with prestigious
theaters and festivals, such as: Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Palm Beach Opera,
Abao Olbe in Bilbao, Opéra de Montpellier, Filarmonico in Verona, Verdi in
Trieste, Regio in Parma, Withsun Festival in Salzburg and Macerata Opera
Festival.
Mr. Myshketa added important roles to his repertoire: Rolando in La Battaglia
di Legnano at the Festival Verdi in Parma and Figaro in Il Barbiere di
Siviglia in Treviso and Ferrara. He also sang: Cléopâtre at the
Salzburg Festival; Le Convenienze e inconvenienze teatrali (Biscroma)
and I Pazzi per Progetto (Venanzio) in Zurich, Paolo Carignani
conducting; Alì Pascha von Janina in Tirana; L’Elisir d’Amore (Belcore)
and Maria Stuarda besides Mariella Devia at the Teatro Filarmonico in
Verona; Lucia di Lammermoor in Marseille.
Mr. Myshketa just enjoyed great success as Ford in Falstaff in Stuttgart,
thus starting a prolific collaboration with the Staatstheater Stuttgart where he
will sing, as a returning guest, in La Traviata, Falstaff, La Bohème, Carmen and I
Puritani.
Among other future plans: Turandot in Toulouse and Cagliari; Carmen (Escamillo)
in Seoul; Don Giovanni (title role) in a new production by Graham Vick
for the AsLiCo circuit and on tour also in Jesi, Fermo, Parma and Bolzano; La
Traviata in Hamburg; concerts and
