Silvia Frigato - soprano
Winner of the “Francesco Provenzale” International Baroque singing competition in
Naples (2007), she furthers her studies under the guidance of Sara Mingardo. She
regularly performs at numerous prestigious concert venues and festivals, collaborating
with such artists as Rinaldo Alessandrini, Fabio Biondi, Gianluca Capuano, Claudio
Cavina, Ottavio Dantone, Antonio Florio, John Eliot Gardiner, Lorenzo Ghielmi, Philippe
Herreweghe, Sigiswald Kuijken, Stefano Montanari, Federico Maria Sardelli. Silvia
Frigato recently starred in Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine with
the Monteverdi Choir and Sir John Eliot Gardiner, in L’Incoronazione di Poppea
at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and in Jommelli’s L’Isola Disabitata at
the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, both under Rinaldo Alessandrini. After her debut
at the Maggio Musicale in Florence with Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice (2014)
she returned as Yniold in Daniele Abbado’s new production of Pélleas et Mélisande
under the baton of Daniele Gatti (2015). Silvia Frigato was chosen by Sir John Eliot
Gardiner for the first and the second edition of Accademia Monteverdiana in Sarteano,
performing in the opening concert of the Incontri in Terra di Siena Festival. Ms.
Frigato sang the opening concert at the Trigonale Festival in Austria with La Risonanza
and Fabio Bonizzoni, Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine in Prague and
Dresden with Collegium 1704 and Václav Luks; Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in
Venice and Milano (with I Pomeriggi Musicali) and a concert with music by Anton
Webern for Bologna Festival. Silvia Frigato sang and recorded for Brilliant Classic
unpublished music by Manna and Feo with the Fondazione Pietà de’ Turchini in Naples.
Future plans: Juditha Triumphans (Vagaus) at the Teatro Comunale in
Ferrara; Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine with Ensemble Matheus and
Jean-Christophe Spinosi on tour in France; Biber’s Missa Salisburgensis in
Salzburg with Collegium 1704 and Václav Luks; Martinů’s Mirandolina (title
role) and La Sonnambula (Lisa) at La Fenice in Venice. Silvia Frigato has
been selected for the 2017 Monteverdi project conducted by John Eliot Gardiner and
will take part in the worldwide tour of Il Ritorno di Ulisse in patria and
L’Incoronazione di Poppea.

Sara Mingardo - alto
A prizewinner of Premio Abbiati (2009), Sara Mingardo is one of the genuine contralto
voices on the music scene today. She collaborated with such conductors as Claudio
Abbado, Ivor Bolton, Riccardo Chailly, Myung-Whun Chung, Ottavio Dantone, Colin
Davis, John Eliot Gardiner, Riccardo Muti, Trevor Pinnock, Christophe Rousset, Jordi
Savall, Jeffrey Tate and Rinaldo Alessandrini. Her repertoire includes works by
Gluck, Monteverdi, Handel, Vivaldi, Rossini, Verdi, Cavalli, Mozart, Donizetti,
Schumann and Berlioz. Particularly active on the concert side, she has a vast repertoire
ranging from Pergolesi to Respighi, through Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Dvorak and
Mahler.
Future plans: Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno in Aix-en-Provence,
Caen and in Lille under Emmanuelle Haïm and then at the Staatsoper in Berlin; a
revival of L’incoronazione di Poppea at the Teatro alla Scala with Rinaldo
Alessandrini; Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria (Penelope) at the Staatsoper
Hamburg under Jean-Christophe Spinosi; Vivaldi’s L’Incoronazione di Dario
at the Teatro Regio in Turin and on tour in Europe with Ottavio Dantone; Mendelssohn’s
Elias with the Maggio Musicale Orchestra under Daniele Gatti; Johannes-Passion
with Musica Saeculorum in Essen and Aix en Provence; Brahms’ Alto Rhapsody
at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome under Daniele Gatti; Vivaldi’s Stabat Mater
at the Musica Sacra Festival in Münster; Mozart’s Requiem with the London
Philarmonic Orchestra under the baton of Natalie Stutzmann; Mahler’s 8th Symphony
at the Lucerne Festival under Riccardo Chailly; a recital at the Grand Théâtre de
Genève.
