Internationally sought-after tenor Aquiles Machado recently performed: Tosca
in Leipzig, at Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Beijing, Berlin (Deutsche Oper) and
Vienna (Wiener Staatsoper); Carmen, Un Ballo in Maschera, Faust
in Las Palmas; Simon Boccanegra in Zurich and more recently in Las Palmas
opposite Leo Nucci; Madama Butterfly in Torre del Lago and Vienna; La Bohème
in Valencia, Riccardo Chailly conducting, in Rome (Caracalla) and Dresden; Norma
in Bologna; Il Trovatore at the Sferisterio Opera Festival in Macerata; La
Traviata in Oviedo, Valencia and Florence, both under Zubin Mehta; Roméo et Juliette
in Liège; Carmen in Bilbao and in Minorca; I Due Foscari in
Toulouse and in Barcelona (concert version opposite Placido Domingo); Cavalleria
Rusticana in Pamplona; Madama Butterfly and Carmen in St.Petersburg;
Tosca in Cagliari (Gianluigi Gelmetti conducting), in Torre del Lago and
at Opera in Rome (Donato Renzetti conducting); Don Carlo and La Traviata
at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow; Rigoletto in Pamplona; Un Ballo in Maschera
with the Israel Philarmonic Orchestra and Zubin Mehta; La forza del Destino
at the Grand Théâtre in Geneva, Paolo Arrivabeni conducting; La Vida Breve
in Cincinnati. Aquiles Machado performed Verdi’s Requiem in Bologna, then
on tour in Moscow at the Rostropovich Festival under Michele Mariotti, in Cincinnati
and St. Louis under Raphael Frühbeck de Burgos, at the Gewandhaus Leipzig under
Anthony Bramall and more recently in Trento and Bolzano with the Haydn Orchestra,
he also sang series of gala concerts in Tokyo.
Plans include: Werther (title role), La Forza del Destino (Don
Alvaro) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; Puccini’s Messa di Gloria in Bilbao;
concerts at the Teatro Regio in Parma and in Saarbrücken.

Riccardo Zanellato - Ramfis
One of the most appreciated basses of our time, Riccardo Zanellato recently gained
great successes as Ferrando in Il Trovatore at the Salzburg Festival besides
Placido Domingo under Daniele Gatti. Among his most notable past engagements: Bellini’s
I Puritani and Lucia di Lammermoor in Florence, Simon Boccanegra
in Dresden, Turandot at Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, La Bohème and
Norma at Teatro Regio in Turin, Norma in Paris (Theatre des Champs-Elysées),
Macbeth (R. Abbado/R. Wilson) at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna and a Gala
concert for the 5th Anniversary of the Guangzhou Opera House in China.
Riccardo Zanellato just made his debut in Attila (title role) for the season's
opening night of the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Michele Mariotti conducting and
Daniele Abbado directing. He then sang Sparafucile in Rigoletto at La Scala
in Milan, Ramfis in Aida at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia,
David McVicar directing, Banco in Macbeth in Tel Aviv, Bruckner’s Te Deum
in Bari, Claus Peter Flor conducting and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony
at the Festival de St. Denis, Michele Mariotti conducting. Mr. Zanellato’s future
plans include: Norma at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw, under
Andriy Yurkevych; a new production of Don Carlo (Filippo II) in Leipzig and
at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa; Nabucco in Stuttgart. Mr. Zanellato will
sing Verdi’s Requiem with the Berliner Philharmoniker in Berlin under the
baton of Riccardo Chailly, with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischer Rundfunks
in Munich under the baton of Riccardo Muti and in Genoa; Rossini’s Stabat Mater
at the Tanglewood Festival with the Boston Symphony Orchestra conducted by Charles
Dutoit; Messa per Rossini at Teatro alla Scala in Milan; a concert gala in
Chicago with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Riccardo Muti.
