Sergio Vitale, baritone, studied with Luigi Giordano Orsini, Renata
Scotto, Renato Bruson, and Anna Vandi. A winner of the “Comunità Europea”
Competition in Spoleto and the “Mattia Battistini” Competition in Rieti,
he made his debut as Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the
Teatro di San Carlo under the baton of Bruno Campanella. He has since
performed roles such as Don Giovanni, Falstaff, Gianni Schicchi, Germont,
Marcello, Malatesta, Sharpless, and Marullo in major opera houses across
Italy and Europe. He was a resident soloist at the Deutsche Oper Berlin,
where he debuted roles including Germont and Schaunard. He has worked with
conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Daniel Oren, Michele Mariotti, and Bruno
Campanella.
