He began his career in opera by combining his first theatrical experiences with his position as professor in macroeconomics and behavioural economics at the University of Milan.

In 2021, he distinguished himself in the ‘Etta e Paolo Limiti’ competition, winning the roles of Talpa in Il Tabarro and Betto di Signa in Gianni Schicchi, which premiered at the Teatro degli Arcimboldi in Milan, under the baton of Beatrice Venezi and directed by Davide Garattini Raimondi.

He was a finalist and best bass in the ‘Salvatore Licitra’ competition in 2021 and was among the ten best emerging voices in the AsLiCo 2022 competition. In 2024, he won second prize ex aequo, with first prize not awarded, in the ‘Giulio Neri’ International Competition.

In 2022, he debuted the role of the Commendatore in Don Giovanni at the Teatro Comunale di Carpi, conducted by Angelo Gabrielli and directed by Alessandro Bertolotti. For the opening of the 2022/23 season, he was Deputato Fiammingo in Don Carlo at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, conducted by Juraj Valčuha and directed by Claus Guth.

Subsequently, he played the Marquis d'Obigny in La Traviata for the Rete Lirica delle Marche in Fano, Fermo and Ascoli Piceno.

In March 2023, he suspended his academic duties to devote himself completely to opera, playing the roles of Duke and Hotel Manager in Adès' Powder Her Face at the Teatro Regio di Torino, under the direction of Riccardo Bisatti and directed by Paolo Vettori. He then played the role of King Richard in the first performance of Dall'Ongaro's opera Robin Hood at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari. He participated in the Festival Verdi di Parma 2023 in the role of the High Priest of Belo in Nabucco (concert form), conducted by Giampaolo Bisanti, and as Acciano in I Lombardi alla prima crociata, directed by Pierluigi Pizzi and conducted by Francesco Lanzillotta.

In the 2023/24 season, he returned to the San Carlo in Naples as Roberto in I Vespri Siciliani, directed by Emma Dante and conducted by Henrik Nánási, as Zuàne, un cantore, un pilota in La Gioconda under the baton of Pinchas Steinberg and directed by Romain Gilbert, and as Dottor Grenvil in La Traviata, conducted by Giacomo Sagripanti and directed by Lorenzo Amato. In June, he also sang the Conte di Ceprano in Rigoletto at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, directed by John Turturro and conducted by Renato Palumbo.

In the coming months, he will cast the roles of Larkens in La Fanciulla del West and Cesare Angelotti in Tosca, returning to the San Carlo in Naples for the third consecutive season.
