Francesco Cilluffo - conductor
Conductor and composer, he graduated from the Turin Conservatoire, the Guildhall School of Music and King’s College in London. He has worked as assistant conductor at the Chicago Lyric Opera, the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, the Copenhagen Opera, the Opéra du Rhin in Strasbourg and the Teatro la Fenice in Venice. Among his most notable appearances as conductor: a gala concert at the Scottish Opera in Glasgow, Le Nozze di Figaro at the Byblos Festival, The Servant by Tutino at the Teatro Rossini in Lugo, Mozart’s Requiem with the Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino, Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde at the Festival della Valle d’Itria, concerts with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Santiago de Chile, Zemlinsky’s Der König Kandaules at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo. Among his compositions: the opera Il caso Mortara, premiered in New York in 2010, the choral cantata Voci di tenebra azzurra (Festival della Valle d’Itria, 2011) and the song cycle for soprano and string orchestra The Land to Life Again (Festival Incontri in Terre di Siena, 2012). Future plans: a new production of Il Trovatore for the AsLiCo on tour in Northern Italy’s historical theaters; a concert tour with the Orchestra Sinfonica della Provincia di Bari; concerts with the Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino within a 3-years-long project dedicated to the voice and the orchestra. He will open the 2013 Festival Incontri in Terra di Siena conducting the Orchestra Regionale Toscana and he will participate in a Gala Concert at the San Antonio Opera (USA).
Rosa Bove - Mezzo soprano
Young mezzosoprano, a specialist of Baroque repertoire, after her debut in Pergolesi’s Confitebor under the baton of Claudio Abbado (recorded for Deutsche Grammophon), she Vivaldi’s Juditha Triumphans at the Soli Deo Gloria Festival in Braunschweig and at the Beaune Festival, with Modo Antiquo and Federico Maria Sardelli and Pergolesi’s Lo Frate ’Nnamurato in Jesi with Europa Galante and Fabio Biondi. In 2012 she made her debut at the Garsington Opera Festival in a new production of Vivaldi’s L’Olimpiade, under the baton of Lawrence Cummings and at the Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca singing Hasse’s Artaserse under Corrado Rovaris.
Giulio Mastrototaro - Baritone
Winner of the AsLiCo competition for the role of Belcore in L'Elisir d'Amore and of the prize as best performer for Pietro il Grande by Donizetti (Dynamic) at the Martina Franca Festival. Among his past engagements, it is worth mentioning: L’Italiana in Algeri at the Teatro Sao Carlos Lisbon, Iphigénie en Aulide, with Riccardo Muti at the Rome Opera, Il Finto Turco by Piccinni in Vicenza, La Cenerentola in Avignon and Reims, La Gazza Ladra in Wildbad, Gianni Schicchi at the Academy of Santa Cecilia conducted by Vladimir Jurowski. He recorded Siberia by Giordano (Dynamic), La cambiale di matrimonio and L’Italina in Algeri (Naxos) as well as Donizetti’s Adelia (RCA).
Future plans: Le nozze di Figaro in Potsdam; Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Saint-Etienne; La Cenerentola in Massy; L’Italiana in Algeri in Avignon.
