Krystian Adam – Giove/Arete

Much in demand for the 17th and 18th serio and buffo repertoire, the Polish tenor Krystian Adam regularly works with many of the most important conductors of the ‘historically informed practice’. Mr. Adam had recently starred in La Pietra del Paragone (Cavalier Giocondo) at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris and in Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine with the Monteverdi Choir under John Eliot Gardiner in Cambridge, Barcelona and Versailles; Bach’s St. Matthew Passion with Akademie für Alte Musik in Berlin and Munich. He recently performed Haydn’s Philemon und Baucis, with Europa Galante and Fabio Biondi at the Festival Primtemps des Arts in Monte-Carlo; Myslivecek’s L’Olimpiade, with Collegium 1704 and Vaclav Luks at the Theater an der Wien; Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, with Collegium 1704 and Vaclav Luks in Prague (Rudolfinum) and in Dresden (Annenkirche).

Future plans include: Mozart’s Idomeneo (under Marc Minkowski) and Le nozze di Figaro (under Antonio Pappano) at the Covent Garden; Il Re Pastore at the Théâtre du Châtelet under Jean-Christophe Spinosi and L’occasione fa il ladro at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées under Enrique Mazzola; Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine with the Monteverdi Choir under John Eliot Gardiner in Salzburg; Die Zauberflöte at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège;  Bach’s B-minor Mass at the Maggio Musicale in Florence under Stefano Montanari; Respighi’s Lauda per la natività del Signore with the Rundfunk Sinfonie Orchester in Berlin; Zelenka’s Te Deum at the Wratislavia Cantans festival and on tour with Vaclav Luks; Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno in Versailles with La Risonanza and Fabio Bonizzoni.

A specialist of Baroque music, she has a repertoire that goes up to the twentieth century. Among her recent performances, it is worth mentioning: Vivaldi’s Teuzzone (Cino) with Le Concert de Nations and Jordi Savall in Versailles (recorded for Naïve); Il Novello Giasone (Isifile) by Cavalli/Stradella at the Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca; Mozart’s Requiem under Christopher Hogwood at the Anima Mundi Festival in Pisa; Così fan tutte (Dorabella) under Ryo Terakado in Tokyo;Handel’s Deidamia (Nerea) in Vienna and in Braunschweig, Handel’s Ariodante (Ginevra) in Turin and Bucharest, Handel’s Orlando (Angelica) in Versailles, all of them with Il Complesso Barocco and Alan Curtis; Handel’s Agrippina (Poppea) and Vivaldi’s Orlando Furioso (1714) (world premiere) at the Festival de Beaune with Modo Antiquo and Sardelli. In the season 2012/2013 she successfully sang a whole run of performances of Agrippina (Poppea) at the Kiel Opera, under Ruben Dubrovsky, and the first staged production of Vivaldi’s Farnace (1738) at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino under Federico Maria Sardelli; Serse (Atalanta) with Ensemble Matheus and Jean-Christophe Spinosi in Dortmund; Vivaldi’s L’incoronazione di Dario with Accademia Bizantina and Ottavio Dantone in Bremen and Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice (Euridice) with Modo Antiquo and Federico Maria Sardelli at the Festival de Beaune; Le Nozze di Figaro (Susanna) in Tokyo; Messiah with Collegium 1704 in Prague; Haydn’s The Creation in Belfast with the Ulster Orchestra in Belfast.

Future plans:  Traetta’s Armida at the Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca; Alcina in Bremen; L’Incoronazione di Poppea on tour in Japan.
