                                         Riccardo Zanellato - Bass 
                                            
                                          
                                           Won the Operalia Competition (1996) starting a distinguished career that saw him 
                                           perform such operas as Don Carlo, Rigoletto, La Bohème, Turandot, Il Barbiere 
                                           di Siviglia, Le Nozze di Figaro, I Puritani, Don Giovanni, I Masnadieri. 
                                           Much appreciated by Riccardo Muti who invited him for the productions of 
                                           Iphigénie en Aulide, Moïse et Pharaon, Macbeth and Simon 
                                           Boccanegra at the Opera in Rome, he regularly collaborates with such 
                                           institutions as the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Arena in Verona, the Teatro 
                                           Massimo in Palermo, the Verdi Festival in Parma, the Palau de les Arts Reina 
                                           Sofia in Valencia, the Liceu in Barcelona, the Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam, 
                                           the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Settimane 
                                           Musicali in Stresa, the Opernhaus in Zurich, the Vlamse Opera in Antwerp and the 
                                           Opéra de Lausanne, Accademia Nazionale Santa Cecilia. 
                                           Mr. Zanellato recently sang Verdi’s Requiem in Naples again under the 
                                           baton of Muti, in Vilnius with Violeta Urmana, in Portorico, in Cagliari, in 
                                           Moscow at the Rostropovich Festival on tour with the Teatro Comunale of Bologna 
                                           and in Barcelona. Mr. Zanellato lately starred in Luisa Miller in Bilbao,
                                           Aida at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Poliuto, La Bohème 
                                           at the Opernhaus in Zurich and Macbeth at the Opéra de Lyon. Mr. 
                                           Zanellato sang Banco in Macbeth at the opening night of the last season 
                                           at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Roberto Abbado conducting and Bob Wilson 
                                           directing, after that he performed Nabucco at the Teatro dell’Opera in 
                                           Rome, Riccardo Muti conducting, La Juive in Vilnius and again Nabucco 
                                           in Stuttgart. 
                                          
                                              
                                       
                                        Mr. Zanellato future plans 
                                        include: revivals of Nabucco in Stuttgart; La Juive in 
                                        Vilnius; Simon Boccanegra at the Opéra de Lyon; Norma at the 
                                        Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris; Il Trovatore at the Salzburg 
                                        Festival beside Placido Domingo and Daniele Gatti conducting. On the concert 
                                        side, Riccardo Zanellato will sing Mass in A-flat Major in Chicago with 
                                        the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Riccardo Muti conducting and again Verdi’s 
                                        Requiem in Cincinnati, in St. Louis and a Gala concert in Vilnius. |
