starting from the 2026/27 season

The theater stated:

"The Staatsoper Hannover is very pleased to announce the appointment of Francesco Angelico as its new General Music Director.

With him, the house gains an internationally renowned artist, admired for his musical precision, stylistic versatility, and inspiring collaboration with both orchestras and singers. [...]

The Staatsoper Hannover is confident that with Francesco Angelico it has secured an outstanding musician who will further strengthen the institution’s profile and bring new artistic impulses.

His international experience, as well as his passion for musical theatre, make him the ideal choice for this central position."
