Aquiles Machado - tenor
After his successes gained in I Masnadieri in Naples, La Gioconda in
Palermo and Rome, La Forza del Destino at the Festival Verdi in Parma, Ernani in
Bilbao, Un Ballo in Maschera in Liège and Simon Boccanegra in
Berlin, Aquiles Machado recently starred as Cavaradossi in Tosca il Leipzig,
role he had sung with huge success at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, in Beijin,
in Berlin (Deutsche Oper) and Vienna (Wiener Staatsoper). Among his recent
engagements it is worth mentioning: Don José in Carmen in Las Palmas;
Gabriele Adorno in Simon Boccanegra in Zurich; Alfredo in La Traviata in
Florence; Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly at the Puccini Festival in Torre
del Lago; Rodolfo in La Bohème in Valencia, Riccardo Chailly conducting; Un
Ballo in Maschera in Las Palmas; Norma at the Teatro Comunale in
Bologna; Il Trovatore at the Sferisterio Opera Festival in Macerata; La
Traviata at the Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo and at the Palau de les Arts
Reina Sofia in Valencia under Zubin Mehta;Roméo et Juliette in Liège; Don
José in Carmen in Bilbao. Aquiles Machado had
performed Verdi’s Requiem in Bologna and on tour in Moscow at the
Rostropovich Festival under the baton of Michele Mariotti and a Verdian Gala at
the Teatro Massimo in Palermo.
Future plans:
Madama Butterfly in
Vienna (Wiener Staatsoper); I due Foscari in Toulouse; Norma in
Palermo. As returning guest at the Oper in Leipzig Mr. Machado will star in
Verdi’s Requiem.

Riccardo Zanellato - Bass
Riccardo Zanellato
started a distinguished career which saw him performing such operas as Don
Carlo, Rigoletto, La Bohème, Turandot, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Le Nozze di
Figaro, I Puritani, Don Giovanni, I Masnadieri. Regularly invited by
Riccardo Muti for many productions at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome (among
others,Iphigénie en Aulide, Moïse et Pharaon, Macbeth and Simon
Boccanegra), he collaborates with such institutions as the Teatro alla Scala
in Milan, Teatro Regio in Turin, the Arena in Verona, the Teatro Massimo in
Palermo, the Verdi Festival in Parma, the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in
Valencia, the Liceu in Barcelona, the Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam, the
Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Opernhaus
in Zurich, the Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp, the Opéra de Lausanne and the Accademia
Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.Mr.
Zanellato recently sang Verdi’s Requiem in Naples under the baton of
Muti, in Vilnius with Violeta Urmana, in Portorico, in Cagliari, in Moscow at
the Rostropovich Festival on tour with the Teatro Comunale of Bologna and in
Barcelona. Mr. Zanellato lately starred in Luisa Miller in Bilbao, Aida at
the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Poliuto, La Bohème at the
Opernhaus in Zurich and Macbeth at the Opéra de Lyon. Mr. Zanellato sang
Banco in Macbeth at the opening night of the last season at the Teatro
Comunale di Bologna, Roberto Abbado conducting and Bob Wilson directing. He then
performed Nabucco at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Riccardo Muti
conducting, La Juive and a New Year’s Eve Concert in Vilnius and again Nabucco in
Stuttgart and Leipzig. Mr. Zanellato has just sung Schubert’s Mass in A- flat
Major for his debut at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Riccardo Muti conducting.
Mr. Zanellato’s future plans include: revivals of Nabucco in
Stuttgart; La Juive in Vilnius; Simon Boccanegra at the Opéra de
Lyon and in Dresden; Norma at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris; Il
Trovatore at the Salzburg Festival beside Placido Domingo and under Daniele
Gatti and at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan; Verdi’s Requiem at the Ravenna
Festival and on tour in Italy and Slovenia under the baton of Riccardo Muti.
