Winner of the Oscar della Lirica 2019 and recipient of the "Verdi d'Oro"
in 2018, Riccardo Zanellato has established himself as a reference artist
of the Verdi repertoire and beyond, guest of theatres such as: La Scala in
Milan, Festival Verdi and Teatro Regio in Parma, Regio in Turin, Opera in
Rome, Arena in Verona, Teatro del Maggio in Florence, Rossini Opera
Festival, Liceu in Barcelona, Opéra de Paris, Covent Garden in London,
Bayerische Staatsoper, Deutsche Oper, Wiener Staatsoper, Copenhagen Opera,
Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, New National Theatre in Tokyo, Opera in Hong
Kong, Opera in Taipei.
Particularly intense is Riccardo Zanellato's artistic collaboration with
Maestro Riccardo Muti, who will have him perform in prestigious
productions at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Ravenna Festival, on tour in
the East and in important concerts with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra,
with whom he will also star in a solo recital.
Mr. Zanellato also collaborates with conductors as Claudio and Roberto
Abbado, Chailly, Gatti, Gelmetti, Mariotti, Pappano, Battistoni, Rustioni,
Renzetti, Viotti and with directors such as Daniele Abbado, De Ana,
Muscato, Vick, Wilson, Maestrini and Pier'Alli.
Successes in past seasons include: Messa per Rossini at La Scala
in Milan conducted by Chailly; Rigoletto, I Masnadieri, Sonnambula at
the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome; Don Carlo in Leipzig and Tenerife;
Nabucco in Athens; Macbeth in Ravenna and at the Maggio
Musicale Fiorentino with Maestro Muti; Attila, Luisa Miller at the
Festival Verdi in Parma; Verdi's Requiem in Naples and Berlin
conducted by Valčuha; New Year's Gala at the Teatro alla Scala; La
Juive at the Opera Vlaanderen; Aida at the Fenice in Venice
and Turandot on tour in Japan.
Most recentely, he performed Verdi's Requiem several times: at
the George Enescu International Festival in Bucharest, in Hamburg with the
NDR Sinfonieorchester, at the Musikverein with Maestro Muti and the
Chicago Symphony Orchestra and in Bamberg, Germany; at the Théâtre des
Champs-Elysées in Paris and in Lubjiana and at the Ravenna Festival and on
tour with M° Muti, to name a few. At the Festival Verdi 2022 he starred as
Jacopo Fiesco and as bass for the Requiem.
He also performed Rossini's Stabat Mater in Barcelona; Nabucco
in Turin,Valencia, Bari and Geneve; a special Gala concert for the
opening night of the Arena di Verona; Rigoletto at the Circo
Massimo in Rome, Muscat, Genoa and in Caracalla; Verdi's Macbeth
in the rare French version at the Festival Verdi in Parma and with Muti in
Tokyo; Faust Rhapsody in Ravenna; Aida in Verona and Rome;
Lucia di Lammermoor in Munich; Simon Boccanegra in Liège
and Tokyo; Don Giovanni and La Juive in Turin; I
Vespri Siciliani in Bologna; Verdi’s Requiem in Rheingau
with the Orchestra Sinfonica Verdi of Milan
His next appointments will see him in: Verdi’s Requiem in
Ankara and at La Fenice in Venice; I Puritani in a concert
version with the Dresden Philarmonie (and recording for Classical
Recording Company); a Gala Concert in Busseto under the baton of M° Muti;
Simon Boccanegra in Helsinki and Malipiero's La vita è sogno
in Venice.
