Nicole Wacker made her debut at the
Donizetti Opera Festival in Bergamo in one of the titular roles
(Serafina) of Donizettis Chiara e Serafina at the Teatro
Sociale di Bergamo. In the summer of 2022 she made a successful debut in
the opera studio of the Bregenzer Festspiele, singing the titular role
in Joseph Haydns Armida. Starting from season 2021/ 22, Nicole
Wacker is part of the prestigious Accademia Teatro alla Scala, where she
is taught by Luciana D'Intino, as well as Pietro Spagnoli, and she also
had the opportunity to work with Gregory Kunde and Roberto Abbado. In
Milan she debuted in their production of Thaïs as Charmeuse, as
well as in Cenerentola (for kids) as Clorinda. In the season of
2022/ 23 she is part of the children's opera Il piccolo principe
and then she made her debut as Berta in Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
In 2023 she was awarded in the AsLiCo
Competition in Como, winning the part of the Queen of the Night in a
production of Die Zauberflöte at Opera Lombardia, role she has
also sung at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste.
Among her other future plans, she will
take part in the concert with music of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy under
the baton of Roberto Abbado at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa; Die Zauberflöte in Essen and in a
Germany tour with the Hokapelle Muenchen.
Born in 1995 in Zurich, Nicole Wacker got
first acquainted with classical music when she was six years old singing
in the children's choir of the opera house in Zurich. She then graduated
her Bachelor's degree as well as her Master of Performance "summa cum
laude" in Berne.
2015/ 2018 she participated in the summer
courses of Austria Barock Akademie (ABA), where she discovered her
passion for early music, working with Susanne Rydén, Roberta Mameli,
Mary Collins and Christian Hilz. Other masterclasses gave her the
opportunity to work with Emma Kirkby, Christiane Oelze, Eric Schneider,
Sophie Raynaud, and Michael Volle. In the category of Lied she was
brought forward by Thomas Hampson, Martina Jankovà, Gerard Wyss and Ivo
Kahànek.
