Marianna Pizzolato - mezzo-soprano
Marianna Pizzolato made her debut at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro with Il
Viaggio a Reims, becoming a reference performer for the main Rossini roles,
as well as for Baroque and eighteenth century’s repertoire; she is now considered
one of the foremost voices of our time.
Ms. Pizzolato regularly sings in the most prestigious theaters and festivals in
the world as Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Opéra National de Paris,
Nikikai Opera Theatre in Tokyo, Sante Fe Opera Festival, Belcanto Opera Festival
in Wildbad, Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona,
Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège, Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, Teatro Massimo
in Palermo, working with conductors such as Bruno Campanella, Daniele Gatti, Riccardo
Muti, Antonio Pappano, Alberto Zedda just to name a few. After her recent success
as Isabella in L’Italiana in Algeri in Florence, Bruno Campanella conducting
and Joan Font directing, and in Toulouse a new production by Laura Scozzi, Marianna
Pizzolato’s future plans include: Tancredi (title role) in Santiago
de Chile and in Bremen (concert version) with Accademia Bizantina, Ottavio Dantone
conducting; Il Viaggio a Reims at Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow; La Donna del
Lago at Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège, Michele Mariotti conducting; Rossini’s
Stabat Mater with the Accademia di Santa Cecilia (Rome) in Edinburgh under
the baton of Antonio Pappano and at the Tanglewood Festival with the Boston Symphony
Orchestra conducted by Charles Dutoit; Chausson’s Poème de l'amour et de la mer
with the Bremer Philharmoniker in Bremen; Beethoven’s 9th Symphony
at the Festival de St. Denis with the Orchestre National de France, Michele
Mariotti conducting and at the Menuhin Festival Gstaad (concert and recording) and
in Wroclaw under the baton of Giovanni Antonini. Ms. Pizzolato will make her debut
at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in Rossini’s Guillaume Tell.

(Wiener Staatsoper); Carmen, Un Ballo in Maschera, Faust in
Las Palmas; Simon Boccanegra in Zurich and more recently in Las Palmas opposite
Leo Nucci; Madama Butterfly in Torre del Lago and Vienna; La Bohème
in Valencia, Riccardo Chailly conducting and in Rome (Caracalla) and Dresden; Norma
in Bologna; Il Trovatore at the Sferisterio Opera Festival in Macerata; La
Traviata in Oviedo, Valencia and Florence, both under Zubin Mehta; Roméo et Juliette
in Liège; Carmen in Bilbao and in Minorca; I Due Foscari in
Toulouse and in Barcelona (concert version opposite Placido Domingo); Cavalleria
Rusticana in Pamplona; Madama Butterfly and Carmen in St.Petersburg;
Tosca in Cagliari (Gianluigi Gelmetti conducting), in Torre del Lago and
at Opera in Rome (Donato Renzetti conducting); Don Carlo and La Traviata

with the Israel Philarmonic Orchestra and Zubin Mehta; La forza del Destino
at the Grand Théâtre in Geneva, Paolo Arrivabeni conducting; La Vida Breve
in Cincinnati. Aquiles Machado performed Verdi’s Requiem in Bologna, then
on tour in Moscow at the Rostropovich Festival under Michele Mariotti, in Cincinnati
and St. Louis under Raphael Frühbeck de Burgos, at the Gewandhaus Leipzig under
Anthony Bramall and more recently he sang series of gala concerts in Tokyo.
Plans include: Werther (title role), La Forza del Destino (Don
Alvaro) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; Madama Butterfly at Teatro di San
Carlo in Naples; Puccini’s Messa di Gloria in Bilbao; concerts at the Teatro
Regio in Parma and in Saarbrücken.
