On the 1st of March 2019 the Monte Carlo Opera and Cecilia Bartoli announced
the official nomination of Maestro Gianluca Capuano as principal orchestra conductor
of Les Musiciens du Prince-Monaco.
This unique collaboration started In January 2017 when Cecilia Bartoli,
artistic director of Les Musiciens du Prince-Monaco, invited Gianluca Capuano to
conduct La Cenerentola, who had an enthusiastic reception by both audience and critics.
In the same year he had occasion to work with the orchestra again in such different
operas as Ariodante and La donna del lago at the Salzburg Festival, with Cecilia
Bartoli starring in the title roles of both operas. Another facet of their work
was the recording of Javier Camarena’s acclaimed album, the “Contrabandista”,
produced by the Cecilia Bartoli-Music Foundation and issued by Decca.
Since then, Gianluca Capuano has led many performances with Les Musiciens du Prince-Monaco
with Cecilia Bartoli both in Monte Carlo and the most renowned venues throughout
Europe.
