Gevorg Hakobyan was born in Armenia. He graduated from the Yerevan Conservatory of Music in 2004 and, by virtue of his musical achievements, was awarded a prize by the President of the Republic of Armenia and won First Prize at the Pavel Lisitsian International Competition. He has sung at the Wiener Staatsoper, Teatro Real Madrid, Liceu Barcelona, Nationale Opera Amsterdam, Palau de les Arts Valencia, Teatro Carlo Felice Genoa, Teatro Bolshoi Moscow, Mariinsky Theatre, Mikhailovsky Theatre, Nationale Opera Amsterdam, Stuttgart Opera, Terme di Caracalla Rome, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Palau des Arts Reina Sofia, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Opera de Lille, Genoa Opera and Teatro Regio di Torino, as well as at the White Nights Festival St. Petersburg and the Savonlinna Festival.
