Le convenienze e le inconvenienze teatrali
Wexford Festival
26/10/2024

"Danila Grassi conducts the festival orchestra with passion and precision. At the curtain call she wept as the opening night’s rapturous applause rang out; surely not the only tears of joy shed that night.”

(Stephen Pritchard, The Guardian)

"Comme de juste, cette mécanique de précision ne fonctionnerait pas sans une cheffe extrêmement investie, totalement à l’écoute du plateau, c’est le cas de Danila Grassi qui tire le meilleur de l’orchestre et des pupitres masculins du chœur du festival”

(Tania Bracq, Forum Opera)

"Danila Grassi conducts with spirit and verve, knowing when to hold back to let the line, laugh or moment land. Grassi always in complete control of the music and, by extension, of everything on stage.”

(Chris O'Rourke, The Arts Review)

"Danila Grassi conducts with sympathetic warmth and with well-judged balance between stage and pit.”

(Michael Dervan, The Irish Time)

"Orchestra, chorus and conductor Danila Grassi are superb. Unfortunately, I ran out of stars at five.”

(George Hall, The Stage)

"Under the baton of conductor Danila Grassi, the orchestra exuded energy and sophistication, deftly navigating the musical shifts infused by Phelan’s directorial choices. The chorus sang with heartfelt energy adding greatly to the evening’s buoyancy and jived as well as any modern pop idol.”

(Andrew Larkin, bachtrack)
