Luciana D’Intino - Amneris
One of today’s most appreciated mezzos, particularly in demand for Italian and French
repertoire, Luciana D’Intino has established an extraordinary international career,
performing regularly on the world’s most prestigious concert stages and opera houses,
including Teatro alla Scala, Metropolitan in New York, Covent Garden in London,
Wiener Staatsoper, Staatsoper unter den Linden in Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper
in Munich, Opernhaus in Zürich, Teatro Municipal in Santiago de Chile, Maggio Musicale
Fiorentino in Florence, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Comunale in Bologna,
Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Teatro Regio in Parma and
Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro.
She worked with such conductors as Salvatore Accardo, Daniel Barenboim, Semyon Bychkov,
Myung-Whun Chung, Colin Davis, Daniele Gatti, James Levine, Lorin Maazel, Zubin
Mehta, Riccardo Muti and George Prêtre.
Amongst her recent engagements it is worth mentioning her return to Opéra National
de Paris as Amneris in Verdi’s Aida (for the 2013/14 season’s opening night)
followed by Adriana Lecouvreur in Bilbao, Il Trovatore (Azucena) at
Teatro alla Scala, Aida in Vienna and Cavalleria Rusticana in Florence
and Palermo, Adriana Lecouvreur and Il Trovatore at the Opéra National
de Paris, Verdi’s Requiem at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in
Rome, Manfred Honeck conducting, and Suor Angelica at Teatro di San Carlo
in Naples. Luciana D’Intino just starred as Carmen for the opening night of the
2016 season of the Arena in Verona. Ms. D’Intino’s future engagements include:
Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Snow Maiden at the Opéra in Paris; Il Trovatore
at the Wiener Staatsoper and in Oviedo; Adriana Lecouvreur at Opéra in Monte
Carlo and at Teatro di San Carlo in Naples.
