Opera House in London under the baton of Antonio Pappano, Duke of Mantua in
Rigoletto and Nemorino in L’Elisir d’Amore in Vienna, Alfredo in La
Traviata in Berlin, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni at the Arena in
Verona Stefano Montanari conducting, Riccardo in Un ballo in Maschera in
Tel Aviv with Zubin Mehta, Verdi’s Requiem in Amsterdam with Marc
Albrecht, Puccini’s Messa di Gloria at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées in
Paris, Paolo Arrivabeni conducting, Rigoletto in Toulouse and new
production of La Traviata at the Staatsoper Berlin, Daniel Barenboim
conducting.
Plans include: Don
Giovanni at
the Wiener Staatsoper; La Traviata at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin; Falstaff in
Chicago, Riccardo Muti conducting; a new production of Madama Butterfly in
Zurich; La Bohème, Macbeth and Roméo et Juliette at the
Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona; revivals of King Roger at the Sydney Opera
House. On the concert side, Mr. Pirgu will sing again Verdi’s Requiem in
London and Luxembourg, Berlioz’ Requiem in Vienna (Tugan Sokhiev
conducting) on tour in Moscow, San Sebastian and Oviedo with the Orchestre du
Capitole de Toulouse, a series of concerts in Tokyo, and a gala concert at the
Chorégies d’ Orange. Saimir Pirgu will be engaged in a world concert tour
presenting his new solo album Il mio canto, published by Opus
Arte.
