Born in
Perugia, Marina Comparato made her debut in 1996 as Rosina in Il barbiere di
Siviglia in London as well as in R. Strauss' Elektra at the Maggio
Musicale Fiorentino, starting a career that brought her to prestigious theatres
and festivals such as: La Scala in Milan, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Rossini
Opera Festival, Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Teatro Regio in Turin, La Fenice in
Venice, Carlo Felice in Genoa, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, San Carlo in Naples,
Opéra National de Paris, Opera de Montpellier, Théâtre du Chatelet, La Monnaie
in Brussels, Opera Royal de Wallonie in Liège, Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp ,
Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam, Frankfurt Opera, Teatro Real in Madrid,
Glyndebourne Festival and Salzburg Festival.
Amongst her
recent engagements, it is worth mentioning: Armida (Rinaldo) at the
Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca, under the baton of Diego
Fasolis; Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle at the Teatro dell’Opera in
Rome; Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Rosina) at the Opéra National de Paris
(Opera Bastille); Nabucco (Fenena) at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste;
Rossini’s Stabat Mater at the Maggio Musicale/Opera di Firenze; Rossini’s
Stabat Mater at the Rheingau Muzik Festival.
Mrs. Comparato
collaborated with conductors such as: Claudio Abbado, Roberto Abbado, Riccardo
Chailly, James Conlon, Ottavio Dantone, John Eliot Gardiner, Daniele Gatti,
Reneé Jacobs, Zubin Mehta, Mark Minkowski, Kent Nagano, Daniel Oren, Trevor
Pinnock, Carlo Rizzi, Christophe Rousset, Jeffrey Tate.
Future plans
