Daniel Slater - director
Debuted in 1998 with The Bartered Bride in Leeds receiving the
prestigious "Outstanding Achievement in Opera" international award from the TMA
(Theatrical Management Association) and the "Best Production" award by the
Manchester Evening News. Subsequently are many collaborations with the Komische
Oper in Berlin (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), the Opera of Oviedo (Manon
Lescaut), the Palau de les Arts in Valencia (Prokofiev’s Betrothal in a
Monasteryand L'Arbore di Diana), the Grand Théâtre de Geneve (Don
Pasquale, Lohengrin), San Francisco Opera (The Cunning Little Vixen)
and the Glyndebourne Festival (Betrothal in a Monastery). He recently
directed: Lohengrin at the San Francisco Opera; The Bartered Bride at
the New Zeland Opera; Eugene Onegin at the Holland Park Opera; Don
Giovanni at the Garsington Opera; Tristan und Isolde at the Norwegian
National Opera; La Traviata at the Houston Grand Opera; Die Entführung
aus dem Serail and The Cunning Little Vixen (Best Opera Production
2014 in the What's On Stage awards) at the Garsington Opera; Tannhäuser at
the Estonian National Opera; Serse in Stockholm. Future plans include amongst
the other L’Elisir d’amore at the Opera North.
