Nicola Alaimo - Don Pasquale (June 18th, 20th, 22nd, 25th)
After his huge success as Don Pasquale at the Teatro Real de Madrid (under the baton of Riccardo Muti), Nicola Alaimo returns to the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome singing one of his main roles. Future plans: Guillaume Tell at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, in Bologna and in Brussels (with Evelino Pidò); Falstaff in Marseille, Ravenna and at the Fujiwara Opera in Tokyo; Il Trovatore at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam; Luisa Miller in Liège; Simon Boccanegra (Paolo) at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona opposite Placido Domingo in the title role; L'Elisir d'Amore (Dottor Dulcamara) in Berlin and Munich; La Cenerentola at the Salzburg Festival under the baton of Jean-Christophe Spinosi; Le Comte Ory (Raimbaud) at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan; Don Quichotte at the Lyric Opera in Chicago, Yannis Kokkos directing. Mr. Alaimo will also star in important future productions at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
Mario Cassi - Dott. Malatesta (June 18th, 20th, 22nd)
Mr. Cassi lately sang Figaro in Barbiere di Siviglia at the Rossini Opera Festival under the baton of Alberto Zedda (just issued as a DVD). He made his debut as Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro in Liège, then he performed Dandini in La Cenerentola at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia, Figaro in Mercadante's I Due Figaro in Madrid and Buenos Aires, Riccardo Muti conducting. Mr. Cassi had just sung L’Italiana in Algeri in Liège under Bruno Campanella and Così Fan Tutte at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari Roberto Abbado conducting. Future plans: Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Real de Madrid at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples; L’Italiana in Algeri at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro; L’Elisir d’Amore (Belcore) in Florence and Vienna (Wiener Staatsoper); Così fan Tutte in Cagliari; Pagliacci at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse; La Cenerentola, Die Zauberflöte (Papageno) and Lucia di Lammermoor at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège; Il Viaggio a Reims (Don Alvaro) in Amsterdam.
Bruno Campanella - conductor
With his deep knowledge of the Bel Canto repertoire Mo. Campanella is considered one of its greatest interpreters.
