One of the most versatile and sought-after conductors of his generation,
Francesco Angelico is the Music Director of the Staatstheater Kassel,
where he has already conducted a full Wagner Ring-cycle.
Particularly in demand for modern music,
he has conducted Henze’s Elegy for Young Lovers at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich
(where he will return for Larcher’s Das Jagdgewehr) and Rihm’s Die Hamletmaschine in Kassel.
Highlights of the past season included Boito’s Mefistofele at the Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse
and Pique Dame and La forza del destino in Kassel.
