One
of the leading names in the international operatic scene. Guest of the most
prestigious theaters in the world he regularly collaborates with the
Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Opéra de Paris and the Wiener Staatsoper,
just to name a few. He claims a rich discography with Decca and Atlantic
Records, and recently received the prestigious Grammy Award for the CD “Verismo”
with Renée Fleming. He has just conducted Anna Bolena at the Metropolitan
Opera for the opening night of the 2011/2012 season.
Maestro Armiliato's future engagements include productions at the Bayerische
Staatsoper in Munich, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Metropolitan Opera in New
York, the Opéra National de Paris, the Wiener Staatsoper, the Gran Teatre del
Liceu in Barcelona, Arena in Verona and the Zurich Opernhaus. In
particular, he will also conduct the new production of Rigoletto at the
Bayerische Staatsoper, La Rondine at the Royal Opera House, Faust
at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin.
