Francesca Aspromonte - soprano
After gaining great success in Monteverdi’s L'Orfeo with the Monteverdi Choir under Sir John Eliot Gardiner, in Luigi Rossi’s L’Orfeo under the baton of Raphaël Pichon in Nancy and in Handel’s La Resurrezione with the Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla and Enrico Onofri at the Festival de Musica Antigua in Seville, Francesca Aspromonte’s future plans include: Pasquini’s La sete di Christo with Concerto Romano and Alessandro Quarta at the Società del Quartetto in Milan; revivals of Amore Siciliano with Cappella Mediterranea in Rotterdam, Maguelone and Geneva; Donizetti’s Requiem at the St. Denis Festival with Garcia Alarcon; Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with Les Talens Lyriques and Christophe Rousset in Jesi; Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo at the Musikfest Bremen with L’Arpeggiata and Christina Pluhar; revivals of Perez’s L’Isola disabitata in Lisbon with Divino Sospiro; Rossini’s Il Signor Bruschino at Teatro La Fenice in Venice; Don Giovanni (Zerlina) in Nancy under the baton of Rani Calderon; revivals of Luigi Rossi’s L’Orfeo (Euridice) in Bordeaux and Caen; Cavalli’s Erismena (title role) at the Aix-en-Provence Festival and on tour in Europe with Garcia Alarcon. Ms. Aspromonte will star in solo recitals at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice (in the frame of the Monteverdi Festival), in Nice with the Ensemble Baroque de Nice and Gilbert Bezzina, in Castiglioncello del Trinoro and in Bruneck with the Ensemble Cordia.
Adriana Di Paola - alto
Winner of Santa Chiara Contest in Naples, she made her debut at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro (Il viaggio a Reims) and at the Festival Dei Due Mondi in Spoleto (Amelia al Ballo). At the Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofia she performed Le nozze di Figaro, Ariadne auf Naxos and Rigoletto. Ms. Di Paola sang in I Vespri Siciliani at the Festival Verdi in Parma, where she also performed in La Forza del Destino with Gianluigi Gelmetti. She took part in the Young Singers Project at the Salzburg Festival, where she sang in Die Zauberflöte, Carmen and Giulio Cesare. Ms. Di Paola starred as Zita in Gianni Schicchi with the Accademia Santa Cecilia in Rome, where she returned to sing Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle led from the piano by Antonio Pappano, who chose her also for a special event around Brahms. She then performed: Ariadne auf Naxos at the Glyndebourne Festival, Vladimir Jurowski conducting; Handel’s Giulio Cesare (Cornelia) in Klagenfurt; Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in Monte-Carlo and in Saarbrücken; Verdi’s I vespri siciliani in Madrid; Mozart’s Requiem in Naples; Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte in Bari; Dido and Aeneas in Florence under Stefano Montanari; L’Incoronazione di Poppea (Bob Wilson directing and Rinaldo Alessandrini conducting) at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan; Rota’s Misteryum at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari; La Cenerentola (Tisbe) at the Reate Festival in Rieti and in Bremen with Europa Galante and Fabio Biondi; Beethoven’s 9th Symphony at Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under Antonio Pappano; Handel’s Silla (Claudio) in Valencia with Fabio Biondi; series of baroque concerts in Naples and Tuscany . She also took part in the Accademia Monteverdiana under John Eliot Gardiner.
Future plans: revival of L’Incoronazione di Poppea at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan; Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater again with Geneva Camerata in Geneva.
