Francesca Aspromonte - Maddalena
Born in 1991, Francesca Aspromonte is rapidly establishing herself as one of the most interesting young sopranos for the baroque and classical repertoire. Recently she starred in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo (Musica, Speranza and Messaggiera) and Vespro della Beata Vergine with the Monteverdi Choir and John Eliot Gardiner on tour in the United States (New York-Carnegie Hall, San Francisco, Washington, Costa Mesa, Chapel Hill), at the BBC Proms in London and in Versailles. Under John Eliot Gardiner she also starred in a Monteverdi program at Wigmore Hall in London and in Versailles. She participated in two editions of the Accademia Monteverdiana directed by Sir John Eliot Gardiner.
After her great success in Luigi Rossi’s L’Orfeo with Raphaël Pichon in Nancy and Versailles, Francesca Aspromonte’s future plans include: “The seven deadly sins” (music by Claudio Monteverdi) with Cappella Mediterranea and Leonardo Garcia Alarcon (concerts and recording); Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with the Geneva Camerata and David Greilsammer in Geneva; Pasquini’s La sete di Christo with Concerto Romano and Alessandro Quarta at the Società del Quartetto in Milan; revivals of Amore Siciliano with Cappella Mediterranea in Rotterdam, Maguelone and Geneva; Donizetti’s Requiem at the St. Denis Festival with Garcia Alarcon; Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo at the Musikfest Bremen with L’Arpeggiata and Christina Pluhar; revivals of Perez’s L’Isola disabitata in Lisbon with Divino Sospiro; Rossini’s Il Signor Bruschino at Teatro La Fenice in Venice; Don Giovanni (Zerlina) in Nancy under the baton of Rani Calderon; revivals of Luigi Rossi’s L’Orfeo (Euridice) in Bordeaux and Caen; Francesco Cavalli’s Erismena (title role) in Aix-en-Provence and on tour in Europe with Garcia Alarcon.
