Martina Serafin - Manon Lescaut
Born in Vienna, Martina Serafin studied at the Conservatory of her hometown making
her debut very young in the operetta’s repertoire of F. Lehar, J. Strauss and E.
Kalman.
Today Martina Serafin is considered one of the foremost voices of our time with
a repertoire that spans from Giacomo Puccini to Richard Strauss, from Giuseppe Verdi
to Richard Wagner. Ms. Serafin is regular guest in the most prestigious theaters
of the international lyric scene, such as Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Metropolitan
Opera in New York, Covent Garden in London, Opéra de Paris, Wiener Staatsoper, Deutsche
Oper in Berlin, Opéra de Monte Carlo, Teatro dell’Opera and Accademia di Santa Cecilia
in Rome, Liceu in Barcelona, Arena in Verona, Opernhaus in Zurich, Opera Australia
(Melbourne), Beijing Opera, working with conductors as Marco Armiliato, Riccardo
Chailly, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Zubin Mehta, Daniel Oren, Antonio Pappano, Simon Rattle,
Donald Runnicles, Franz Welser-Möst, just to name a few.
Future plans include:
Macbeth at Liceu in Barcelona
and at Wiener Staatsoper; Lohengrin (Elsa),
Rimskij-Korsakov’s The snow Maiden (Kupava) and Tristan und Isolde
(Isolde) at Opera National de Paris; Turandot at San Francisco Opera; Nabucco
at Teatro alla Scala in Milan; Tosca at Royal Opera House in London. Ms.
Serafin will return to Metropolitan Opera in New York for another important production.
