Mario Cassi - Belcore
Already well-established as one of the most appreciated baritones of his
generation, Mr. Cassi regularly collaborates with conductors such as Roberto
Abbado, Bruno Campanella, Riccardo Muti in the most prestigious theaters in
Italy and abroad.
Mr. Cassi lately earned great success as Dottor Malatesta in Don Pasquale
at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, Antonio Albanese directing, as Figaro in Il
Barbiere di Siviglia at the Arena in Verona, in Naples, Florence and Tel
Aviv, as Belcore in L’Elisir d’amore at the Staatsoper in Vienna, at the
Teatro San Carlo in Naples and at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich under
Asher Fisch, as Silvio in Pagliacci in Toulouse, as Danilo in The
Merry Widow at the Teatro Regio in Turin, as Sharpless in Madama
Butterfly, as Don Alvaro in Il Viaggio a Reims in
Amsterdam, in the new production by Damiano Michieletto conducted by Stefano
Montanari. After performing Orff’s Carmina Burana with the Orchestra
Toscanini under John Axelrod in Parma, Piacenza, Modena and at the Arena in
Verona, and Dottor Malatesta at San Carlo in Naples, Mr. Cassi
returned to Paris singing one of his most beloved role.
