Born in Abruzzo in 1998, Lorenzo Martelli won 1st prize in the ‘Emerging
Voices’ category and the Audience prize at the 74th edition of the
‘AsLiCo’ 2023 Competition, the ‘Best Tenor’ prize at the CLIP ‘9° Concorso
Città di Portofino’, and the 1st prize and audience prize at the 3rd
‘Marmo all'Opera’ Competition in Carrara.
He began studying singing at a very young age, graduating in trumpet and
opera singing under the guidance of Maestro Antonella Cesari at the
Conservatorio ‘A. Casella’ in L'Aquila at the age of 23.
He specialised by winning competitions in Academies such as: Accademia
del Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa 2021, Bottega Donizetti in Bergamo 2022
and Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in the Biennium 2022-2024.
He studied with artists such as Donata D'Annunzio Lombardi and Vincenzo
Spatola, with whom he is currently studying, and then with Giovanna
Casolla, Leone Magiera, Giuseppe Sabbatini, Marco Boemi, Sergio Bologna,
Giulio Zappa, Michele D'Elia, Eva Mei, Vittorio Terranova, Francesco Meli,
Roberto De Candia and many others.
He has been conducted by conductors of the calibre of Zubin Mehta,
Daniele Gatti, Daniele Callegari, Giampaolo Bisanti, Marco Boemi, Fabrizio
Maria Carminati, Michele Spotti, Dian Tchobanov and Alessandro Bonato,
Jacopo Sipari di Pescasseroli, Ivan Fischer, Lorenzo Fratini, Daniel
Smith, Jacopo Brusa, Massimo Raccanelli, Giuseppe La Malfa, James Meena,
Theodor Guschlbauer, Vincenzo Milletarì, Giuseppe Acquaviva and Marc
Moncusi.
