Renowned as one of the best
interpreters of the baroque and classical repertoire, Francesca
Aspromonte graduated with honors from Mozarteum Salzburg and
studied with Renata Scotto at Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in
Rome.
Francesca has performed in

Ottavio Dantone, Giovanni Antonini, Maxim Emelyanichev, Enrico Onofri,

She signed an exclusive recording engagement with Pentatone Music and
her debut album Prologue (a selection of 17th-century operatic
prologues, from Monteverdi to Scarlatti) with Il Pomo d’oro ensemble and
Enrico Onofri, has been worldwide critically acclaimed. Her second album for Pentatone Maria&Maddalena
(among the best recordings of 2022 according to Gramophone) portrays the
Two Maries through early 18th-century oratorios by Bononcini, Scarlatti,
Haendel, Lulier, and others, together with violinist Boris Begelman and
I Barocchisti under the baton of Diego Fasolis. Her latest recital album
Un'alma innamorata (Scherzo's Discos Exceptionales, Rivista
Musica 5 Stars, Classic Voice's CD of the Month...) with Arsenale Sonoro
conducted by Boris Begelman, features three Dear Saxon Italian cantatas
as well as a world premiere recording opera aria.
Most
recently she sang as Deidamia in Achille in Sciro (Corselli) at the Teatro Real de Madrid; Carlo
Cemino in Le zite’n galera
(Vinci) for her debut at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan; Poppea in L’incoronazione di Poppea at the Beaune Festival; Mozart’s Davidde
Penitente with the RTVE Spanish Symphony Orchestra in Madrid and Orfeo ed Euridice at the Palau
de les Arts de Valencia.
Future plans include: Pergolesi's Stabat Mater with
the Nederlands Radio Kamer Filharmonie in Amsterdam and on tour; Vinci's
Oratorio per la Madonna del Rosario in Hamburg; Dido and
Aeneas at the Grand Théâtre de Genève; Stravinskij's Pulcinella
at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice.
