Rudy Park - Calaf
Particularly appreciated in Verdi and Puccini's repertoire, after studying at
the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome he made his debut as Calaf (Turandot)
in 2008 in Italy. He then specialized in Italy and Germany. Mr. Park gained
great success as Mario Cavaradossi in Tosca at the Teatro Filarmonico in
Verona and at the Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago, in Ernani performed
at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna and more recently on tour in Italy, in
Cavalleria Rusticana and Trovatore in Athens, in Turandot in
Genoa and Skopje and Norma in Budapest. Mr. Park made his debut at the
Nikikai Opera Foundation again as Calaf in Turandot under the baton of
Gianluigi Gelmetti; more recently he starred as Arrigo in I Vespri Siciliani
(1861) in Athens, as Turiddu in Cavalleria
Rusticana in Las Palmas. Future
plans include: Aida
at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège; Turandot at the Michigan Opera
Theatre in Detroit; and again as Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana in
Sassari.

Karah Son – Liù
A Student
of the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala, Karah Son specialized under the guidance
of Mirella Freni. Mrs. Son made her operatic debut as the Countess in Le
Nozze di Figaro at the National Theater of Seoul.
Mrs. Son
recently performed as Liù in Turandot at the Teatro Filarmonico in
Verona, at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia, as Mimì in La
Bohème at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, as Biancofiore in Francesca da
Rimini. The role of Liù marked also her debut at the Teatro Comunale in
Bologna for the 2012 opening night season. Karah Son successfully starred as
Madama Butterfly in Tampere.

Rani Calderon – Conductor
The young
Israeli conductor has gained international acclaim both in operatic and
symphonic repertoire performing in the dual capacity of conductor and pianist.
Rani Calderon collaborates, among others, with the Théâtre du Capitole in
Toulouse, the New Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in
Liège, the Opéra du Rhin in Strasbourg, the Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp, and the
Monte Carlo Opera.
M° Calderon conducted Meyerbeer's Semiramide at the Festival della Valle
d'Itria in Martina Franca, Italy edited in DVD by Dynamic. From season 2009 to
2012 one M° Calderon was Principal Conductor at Teatro Municipal in Santiago de
Chile where he conducted among the others: Don Giovanni, Un Ballo in
Maschera, Tannhäuser, Elektra, L'Italiana in Algeri, Aida and
Lucrezia Borgia. Among his successful engagements it is worth mentioning:
Andrea Chénier at the Opéra de Montecarlo; Gounod's Faust in
Bilbao and Dresden; Euryanthe and Oberon at the Théâtre du
Capitole in Toulouse; Aida and Eugene Onegin at the Théâtre
Municipal d'Avignon; Simon Boccanegra in Strasbourg; Der Fliegende
Hollaender in Warsaw; Puccini’s Il Trittico at the Theater an der
Wien in Vienna; Rossini’s Semiramide in Copenhagen. Future plans
include: Ariadne auf Naxos in Toulon; La Bohème and Carmen in
Dresden; M° Calderon will conduct also the Symphony No. 2 (Maher) in Santiago de
Chile.

Yannis Kokkos – director
Yannis Kokkos made his debut as set and costume designer working with stage
director Antoine Vitez. Appreciated for the elegance of his productions, in 1987
began to dedicate himself to directing opera productions such as: Pizzetti’s
Assassinio nella cattedrale at the Teatro alla Scala, Ariadne et
Barbe-bleue in Geneva, Death in Venice in Liege, Tristan und
Isolde at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Zelmira at
the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Norma in Paris, Pelleas et
Melisande in Toulouse, Tancredi in Madrid and in Turin, Iphigenie
en Aulide in Rome, Die Frau ohne Schatten in Florence, Giulio
Cesare in Egitto in Bilbao. Mr Kokkos received the Gold Medal of the Prague
Quadrennial and the Laurence Olivier Award for best opera production with his
La Clemenza di Tito. Future new
productions include Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci in
Toulouse, Otello in Athens, Jérusalem at the Teatro Regio in
Parma.
