Victoria Yarovaya was born in Moscow and began studying music at the age
of 5 as a soloist in a well known children's choir, directed by Victor
Popov. Winner of many competitions, she was awarded a scholarship from the
New Names Foundation.
She graduated from the Academic Music College at the Tchaikovsky Moscow
State Conservatory as a pianist, going on to study at the Opera Centre
under Galina Vishnevskaya. She attended master classes under Riccardo
Muti, Mauro Trombetta, Mimi Coertsi and Irina Bogachova. Victoria Yarovaya
was finalist at the “Competizione dell’Opera” International vocal
competition of the Italian opera, she was Mercedes Viñas extraordinary
prizewinner as a young singer at the Francisco Viñas International vocal
competition.
Mrs. Yarovaya already collaborated with conductors such as Marco Boemi,
Bruno Campanella, Giuliano Carella, Andrew Davis, Antonino Fogliani, James
Gaffigan, William Lacey, Ian Latham-Koenig, Alessandro de Marchi, Fabio
Mastrangelo, Enrique Mazzola, Trisdee Na Patalung, Kirill Petrenko,
Michael Pletnev, Donato Renzetti, Corrado Rovaris, Alexander Rudin, Ilyich
Rivas, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Vassily Sinaisky, Alberto Zedda and Dmitry
Yurovsky.
In 2009 she improved her vocal skills at “Accademia Rossiniana” in Pesaro
under Alberto Zedda and was invited to sing Marchesa Melibea in Rossini’s
Il viaggio a Reims, she performed this role again in Trento,
afterwards with the Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini in Jesi she appeared as
Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia staged by the director Damiano
Micheletto, and in different Opera houses in Italy. Victoria Yarovaya has
been a member of the ensemble at the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre in
Moscow, where she has appeared as Dunyasha in Tsar’s bride and as
Ines in Il Trovatore; at the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Moscow
State Conservatory she performed the role of Zulma in L’Italiana in
Algeri with the Russian National Orchestra under Alberto Zedda.
After her successful debut at the “Accademia Rossiniana” she was invited
in August 2010 to sing a principal role in an early Rossini opera Demetrio
e Polibio at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, after that she
sang Tisbe in La Cenerentola at the Glyndebourne Festival.
Among her past engagements it is worth mentioning: Angelina in La
Cenerentola in Moscow; Laura in Iolanta in Vienna (Theater
an der Wien); recital at the Moscow Novaya Opera Theatre (with music by
Haendel, Rossini, Donizetti and De Falla), where she also appeared as Olga
in Eugene Onegin; again Siveno/Demetrio in Demetrio e Polibio
at the Teatro di San-Carlo in Napoli; Ernestina in L’occasione fa il
ladro at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro; the title role in Hänsel
und Gretel with the Glyndebourne Festival on tour; Bach’s Magnificat
and Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang with the “Musica Viva” chamber
orchestra under Alexander Rudin, at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall (Moscow);
Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia with Mussa Djalil Tatar State
Opera and Ballet Theatre (Kazan) and also on tour with an opera company in
the Netherlands; Dvorak's Requiem Mass with the Russian National
Orchestra at the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory
under Mikhail Pletnev.
In the past seasons she appeared as Dido in Dido and Aeneas at
the Moscow Novaya Opera Theatre; the title role in La Cenerentola
with great success at Scottish Opera in Glasgow and on tour in Aberdeen,
Inverness and Edinbourgh and also at the Opéra de Rouen. She again
performed the role of Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia in Kazan
and at Novaya Opera Theatre in Moscow and another recital with music by
Vivaldi, Handel. Most recently she performed the role of Suzuki in Madama
Butterfly at the Lille Opéra and at the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg;
she made her debut in Rossini in Wilbad where she performed the role of
Falliero in Bianca e Falliero; again at the Rossini Opera Festival
for the Messa di Gloria under maestro Donato Renzetti besides Juan
Diego Flórez, Jessica Pratt and Mirco Palazzi; Romeo in I Capuleti e i
Montecchi at the Moscow Novaya Opera Theatre; she made her debut at
the Opera in Florence as Isabella in L’Italiana in Algeri under
Bruno Campanella.
Moreover she sung in L’Italiana in Algeri and gave a recital
(G.Handel, V. Bellini, G. Rossini, P. Tchaikovsky) at Théâtre du Capitole
de Toulouse; Demetrio in Rossini’s Demetrio e Polibio and Calbo in
Rossini’s Maometto II in Wildbad; Dorabella in Mozart’s Così
fan tutte in the As.Li.Co circuit; Isabella in L’Italiana in
Algeri in Rennes and on tour in France; Pippo in Rossini’s La
gazza ladra in Bari and Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at
Finnish National Opera in Helsinki and at Mussa Djalil Tatar State Opera
and Ballet Theatre (Kazan); Ljubava in Rimskij-Korsakov’s Sadko in
Gent and also gave the recitals in Antwerp and Gent (N.Rimsky – Korsakov,
S. Rachmaninov); Isaura in Rossini’s Tancredi in Marseille
(concert version); Fenena in Verdi's Nabucco in Moscow, Lille and
Dijon; Juno in Handel's Semele in Munchen; Zomira in Ricciardo
e Zoraide and Melania in La Riconoscenza at the Rossini
Opera Festival in Pesaro; Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia and
Isabella in L'Italiana in Algeri in Santiago (Chile); Petite
Messe Solennelle in Moscow; Mozart's Requiem in Ravenna; La
Cenerentola in Las Palmas; Ermione (Andromaca) and in the
Cantata "Il vero omaggio" at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro. At the
Novaya Opera in Moscow she took part in Il Barbiere di Siviglia;
Eugene Onegin (Olga); Nabucco (Fenena); Cenerentola and
Madama Butterfly (Suzuki).
