Simone Alberghini - Baritono - I,V Print

The baritone Simone Alberghini, born in Bologna, made his debut in 1993 at Teatro Regio in Turin; since then he appeared in many of the most important national and international opera houses and continues to appear under the baton of such internationally renowned conductors as Vladimir Jurowsky, Zubin Mehta, Andrew Davis, Gianandrea Noseda, Riccardo Muti, Seiji Osawa, Alberto Zedda, Maurizio Benini, Michele Mariotti, Renato Palumbo, Emmanuel Villaume, Nicola Luisotti, Eduardo Muller and Michael Tilson Thomas.

At the 2005 Glyndebourne Festival he performed Dandini in Cenerentola directed by Peter Hall under the baton of Vladimir Jurowsky, he sung the role also in Washington, New York, London, Goteborg, Naples and Bologna.  Mr. Alberghini is a regular guest at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, where he sang La Donna del Lago, Zelmira, Otello, Tancredi, Torvaldo and Dorliska, Adelina (by P. Generali), La Scala di Seta, La Gazza Ladra, Guillaume Tell.

He performed Athanael in Thais together with René Fleming at the Royal Opera House in London under M.A.Davis, and then again at Teatro la Fenice in Venice and at Teatro Regio in Turin. In summer 2008 he sang as Gugliemo in Così ìan tutte at the Festival Mozart de La Coruna, as Escamillo in Carmen at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome and at the Sferisterio Opera Festival in Macerata. He then performed as Nick Shadow in The Rake's Progress under Gianandrea Noseda at the Settimane Musicali di Stresa. During the same season he starred in L'Italiana in Algeri (new production) at Teatro San Carlo in Naples conducted by Bruno Campanella, and he made his debut in the four villain of Les Contes D'Hoffmann and as Figaro at the Washington National Opera. In 2010 Mr. Alberghini performed as Figaro at the Wiener Staatsoper in Vienna, as Don Giovanni at Teatro La Fenice in Venice and as Sharpless in Madama Butterfly at Teatro Regio in Turin. 

Past engagements include also: Semiramide (Assur) in Naples; Don Giovanni in Frankfurt, Moscow and Perm (with T. Currentzis); Le Nozze di Figaro as Figaro in Denver and as Conte d'Almaviva in Bologna, Wien, Moscow and Palermo; Zaira (Orosmane) at the Martina Franca Festival; L'Elisir d'Amore in Barcelona and Washington; La Bohème (Marcello) in Turin, Tenerife and Palermo; Carmen at the Zurich Opera.  Among his recitals with orchestra it is worth mentioning Verdi's Requiem with the Royal Philarmonic Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Dresden under Sinopoli and with the orchestra Verdi of Milan under R. Chailly, with whom he collaborated for Pulcinella in Lipsia with the Gewandhausorchester. 

Mr Alberghini recently performed Cardenio in Il Furioso all'Isola di San Domingo at the Donizetti Musica Festival in Bergamo then on tour in Savona, Modena, Ravenna and Piacenza; L'Elisir d'Amore in Washington; Così fan tutte (Mariotti/D.Abbado),  Guillaume Tell, Signor Bruschino, Simon Boccanegra Don Giovanni at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna (Mariotti/Vick); Anna Bolena in Moscow; Les Contes d'Hoffann in Piacenza, Modena, Reggio Emilia and Toulon; La Cenerentola (Alidoro) in Lyon (S. Montanari conducting) and at the Edinburgh International Festival; Donizetti's Requiem in Copenhagen; Così fan tutte in Florence. Most recently: Il Trovatore in Tenerife; Le Nozze di Figaro in Moscow, Palermo and Naples; Carmen in Bologna and Florence, Adelson e Salvini in London; Lucia di Lammermoor in Savona and Bologna; Don Carlo (Rodrigo) in Tenerife; Il Viaggio a Reims (gala concert and recording) in Wien; Le Nozze di Figaro at the Teatro Regio in Turin; Il viaggio a Reims in a concert Gala in Vienna; Il Trovatore on tour in Italy; La Bohème in Naples; L'Italiana in Algeri and La Traviata in Venice; Le Nozze di Figaro (Conte) in Colorado; Così fan tutte and Lucrezia Borgia in Moscow; Don Pasquale in Savona; Carmen in Catania; La Cenerentola in Geneva and London; Donizetti's Il Giovedì grasso in Ancona; Il Turco in Italia in Sassari; Pulcinella in Winterthur; Le Comte Ory in Munich; La Cenerentola in Novara.
