Sebastiano Rolli studied Chamber Music and Composition at the
Conservatory of Parma and Milan and Musical Dramaturgy with Marcello
Conati. He began his conducting career at a very young age, distinguishing
himself as one of the most interesting performers of his generation.

Torquato Tasso also in Bergamo; Falstaff at the Teatro
Verdi in Busseto for the Festival Verdi; I Puritani at the
Slovakian National Opera in Bratislava; Gianni Schicchi and Suor
Angelica in Tirana; Anna Bolena in Tenerife; Die Lustige
Witwe at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari; La Cenerentola and
Pierino e il lupo at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona; Lucia di

Aviv; Il Trovatore for the Rete Lirica delle Marche, in Tirana and
in Fidenza for the Festival Verdi; Pagliacci in Sassari; Il
Barbiere di Siviglia and Don Pasquale in Freiburg; Il
Maestro di Cappella on tour in Italy with the Italian Philharmonic
Orchestra; Donizetti's Il giovedì grasso in Ancona; Macbeth at
the Dijon Opera; I Lombardi alla prima crociata and I Due
Foscari at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice; Rigoletto in
Treviso and Rovigo; Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Nancy; L'Elisir

On the concert side, he conducted Faure's Requiem, Verdi's Four
Sacred Pieces at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari; a recital at the
Concert Hall in Dublin and a tour in Mexico and Peru with Juan Diego
Florez; Verdi's Requiem in Medesano with the Teatro Regio in
Parma; concerts with the Arena di Verona Orchestra and the Olympia Theatre
in Athens and with the Orchestra of the Università Statale Milano, of
which he is principal conductor.
He has recorded for Dynamic and Bongiovanni first modern performance
titles by Donizetti and Bellini. He has supervised the first performance
of Verdi, Donizetti and Bellini scores in critical editions, regularly
collaborating with the Verdi Festival in Parma, Donizetti Festival in
Bergamo and Bellini Festival in Catania. He has conducted opera and
symphonic productions in some of the most important international
theatres.
He combines interpretative activity with musicological research applied
to performance practice. He collaborates with the culture page of
important newspapers; he is an intense lecturer and populariser.
His publications include critical studies on: ‘Giuseppe Verdi. I maestri
del melodramma', ’Giuseppe Di Stefano. I suoi personaggi', “Cleofonte
Campanini, Liebeslied”.
