Saverio Fiore - Tenor - W Print

Born in Bari, Saverio Fiore graduated in singing with magna cum laude from the Istituto Musicale “Giovanni Paisiello” in Taranto.  He debuted in 1998 with Donizetti’s Il fortunato inganno at the Festival della Valle D’Itria (Dynamic recording) and he then performed principal roles such as: Bussotti’s Tieste and Battistelli’s Prova d’orchestra at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome; L’elisir d’amore in Grosseto; La Bohème in Jesi and in the Circuito Lombardo; Don Pasquale at the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale in Spoleto; Madama Butterfly at the Opera Giocosa in Savona and in Modena; La Traviata again in Savona and Reggio Calabria; Lucia di Lammermoor at the Megaron Mousikis in Salonicco; Don Carlo at the Sferisterio in Macerata; Rigoletto on tour in Europe; Werther in Savona and Rovigo. Ha has also taken part in the production of Pizzetti’s Assassinio nella cattedrale in Bari (DVD recording).

As far as the concert repertoire concerned: Petite Messe Solennelle and Mozart’s Requiem in Bari; Brückner’s Te Deum at the Conservatory in Milan; Mozart’s Coronation Mass at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Brahms’s Liebeslieder Waltzer at the Settimane Musicali in Stresa, Verdi’s Messa di Requiem at the Teatro Umberto Giordano in Foggia and Puccini’s Messa di Gloria in Pesaro.

In 2009 he debuted at the Salzburger Festspiele as Aufide in Rossini’s Moïse et Pharaon (Riccardo Muti conducting), role he performed again in the revival of the opera in the 2010/ 2011 season at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome. He has distinguished himself as Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and in Parsifal in Valencia (under the baton of Lorin Maazel). He then sang in the production of Strauss ‘s Elektra at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Seiji Ozawa conducting); Manon Lescaut (Edmondo) at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, in Verona (Teatro Filarmonico) and at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma; Salome in Florence (Robert Carsen directing); Aida in Verona and Florence (Zubin Mehta conducting).

Saverio Fiore interpreted again the role of Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Teatro Regio in Turin; Gastone in La Traviata at the Arena in Verona; Cajus in Falstaff at the Filarmonico in Verona and in Sao Paolo; Goro in Madama Butterfly in Verona, Rome and Florence.   Once again at the Florence Opera he sang in Der Rosenkavalier and in Don Carlo (under Zubin Mehta); among his other engagements: Il naso and I due Foscari in Rome; Turandot in Corea, Verona, Rome (Pinchas Steinberg conducting) and in Oman; Rigoletto in Verona; Nabucco in Salzburg and Rome (Riccardo Muti conducting); Pagliacci in Cagliari and Sao Paolo; Tosca and Le Nozze di Figaro in Rome; Carmen, Un ballo in maschera in Verona; Macbeth in Oman; Guillaume Tell in New York and Chicago; I Puritani in Florence and Turin.

Most recently he took part in the productions of Aida in Moscow (Rostropovich Festival) and Falstaff in Chicago with the  Chicago Symphony Orchestra (under the baton of Riccardo Muti); Linda di ChamounixMadama Butterfly, I Masnadieri and Tosca in Rome; Le Nozze di Figaro and Lucia di Lammermoor in Naples; Turandot in Bari; Don Carlo in Florence; Gianni Schicchi in Amsterdam; Le nozze di Figaro in Turin; Attila in Parma; Tosca and Rigoletto in Rome; Madama Butterfly in Amsterdam.

Plans include: Madama Butterfly in Liège; Les Vêpres siciliennes in Rome; I Puritani in Naples; Falstaff in Bari.
