Tamar Iveri - soprano
Georgian Soprano Tamar Ivery is one of the most sought-after artist of her generation,
singing in prestigious theatres as: La Scala in Milan, Metropolitan Opera in New
York, Covent Garden in London, Deutsche Oper and Staatsoper in Berlin, Staatsoper
in Vienna, La Fenice in Venice, Salzburg Festival, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich,
Hamburgische Staatsoper, Opera Bastille in Paris, Théatre du Capitole in Toulouse,
Vienna State Opera, Opera Australia. Tamar Iveri regularly collaborates with conductors
such as Daniel Barenboim, Sir Colin Davis, Mariss Jansons, James Levine, Fabio Luisi,
Lorin Maazel, Riccardo Muti, Daniel Oren, Seiji Ozawa, Antonio Pappano.
Ms. Iveri was awarded the M. Abashidze National Prize in Georgia and received the
Eberhard Waechter Medaille for her Tatyana at the Vienna State Opera. For her performances
as Amelia at Opera Australia she got nominated as Best Female Performer in an Opera
for the prestigious Helpmann Awards.
In October 2014 Tamar Iveri established the charity foundation "Safe Society"
to provide medical, psychological, and legal assistance, as well as rehabilitation,
for victims of all forms of violence including domestic violence, sexual orientation-motivated
violence, race-motivated violence and religious violence. Safe Society likewise
will promote civic education in Georgia with regard to human rights.

and Nemorino in L’Elisir d’Amore in Vienna; Alfredo in a new production
of La Traviata in Berlin under the baton of Daniel Barenboim; Don Ottavio
in Don Giovanni at the Arena in Verona, Stefano Montanari conducting; Riccardo
in Un ballo in Maschera in Tel Aviv with Zubin Mehta; Verdi’s Requiem
in Amsterdam with Marc Albrecht and in Paris with Gianandrea Noseda and the Orchestre
de Paris; Puccini’s Messa di Gloria at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées in
Paris, Paolo Arrivabeni conducting; Rigoletto in Toulouse Daniel Oren conducting.
Plans include: Don Giovanni at the Wiener Staatsoper; La Traviata
at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin; Falstaff in Chicago, Riccardo Muti conducting;
a new production of Madama Butterfly in Zurich; La Bohème (c. Marc
Piollet-d. Jonathan Miller), Macbeth and Roméo et Juliette at the
Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona; revivals of King Roger at the Sydney Opera
House, Andrea Molino conducting; Don Giovanni at the Wiener Staatsoper; a
new production of Rigoletto at the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, Damiano
Michieletto directing. On the concert side, Mr. Pirgu will sing Berlioz’ Requiem
in Vienna (Tugan Sokhiev conducting) on tour in Moscow, San Sebastian and Oviedo
with the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse; Verdi’s Requiem in Barcelona
with the London Symphony Orchestra and in London with the Royal Philarmonic Orchestra
and Vasily Petrenko at the Royal Festival Hall; series of concerts in Tokyo; a gala
concert at the Chorégies d’ Orange. Saimir Pirgu will be engaged in a world concert
tour presenting his new solo album Il mio canto, published by Opus
Arte.
