Tenor Ragaa Eldin was born in Cairo in march 1983. He
completed his musical studies at the Conservatory of Cairo where he
graduated in singing under the guidance of Sobhi Bidair. In 2007 he
participated at the master class of Caroline Dumas at the Ecole Normale
de Musique in Paris, followed by several concerts. In 2008 he became a
member of Cairo Opera House where he interpreted several roles, such
as Nemorino in L'Elisir d'amore and Tamino in Zauberflöte.
In 2010 he entered the semi-finals at the international opera singing
competition "Wilhelm Stenhammar" in Sweden. From 2008 to 2013 he
participates in the "Egyptian-Finnish Music Bridge". He was invited by
the Savonlinna Music Academy from 2008 to 2013, in 2015 he won a scolarship at
the Scuola dell'Opera at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna and at the
Teatro Sao Carlos in Portugal.
At the Teatro Macinelli in Orvieto he performed Manrico in Trovatore,
Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana, Rodolfo
in La Bohème, Alfredo in La traviata. After that he performed Stabat Mater with Cairo Symphony Orchestra, Puccini's Missa di Gloria
in Paris. Ragaa was chosen to cover Ramon Vargas, in the role of
Gaston under the direction of Daniele Callegari and stage director Hugo
di Ana in G. Verdi 's Jerusalem during the 2017 Verdi's Festival at
Teatro Regio di Parma. In the same year Ragaa was invited to take
part in the Fiodor Shalyapin opera Festival in Kazan
singing the role of Manrico in Il Trovatore
by G.Verdi. In 2018 Ragaa has been invited to take place in the master
class with Rolando Villazon in Paris. Other engagements
include: Don José in Abay Theatre in Kazakhstan, Madama Butterfly at
the Samara Opera and Ballet Theatre in Russia and at the
Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Fedora in Catania.
Ragaa Eldin has sung
as soloist in several concerts in Cairo, Amman, Oman, Algeria, Finland,
France, Italy, Spain.
