Born in Milan, Paola Valentina Molinari started cultivating the
passion for music since she was young.
After studying flute and singing at the Conservatories of Milan and
Bergamo, she specialised under the guidance of Mary Lindsey, Janet
Perry, Sara Mingardo, Edith Wiens, Adelina Scarabelli and, currently,
Annamaria Di Micco. She is prizewinner of the prestigious Rotary
Prize.
Paola Valentina Molinari made her debut at the age of 24 in Il convitato di pietra by G. Gazzaniga at the Teatro Donizetti (Bergamo), directed by Pierangelo Pelucchi and Alessio Pizzech.
Her most noteworthy debuts include: W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, directed by Giovanni Battista Rigon; M. Varriale's La finta semplice at the Donizetti Theatre in Bergamo, G. Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia
for the opening of the Teatro Zandonai in Rovereto in 2015, directed by
Lorenzo Tazzieri; G. Donizetti for Donizetti's Night in Bergamo,
conducted by Roberto Rizzi-Brignoli; A. Raskatov's Cuore di Cane at
the Lyon Opera and La Scala in Milan, conducted by Martin Brabbins and
stage direction by Simon Mc Burney.
Mrs Molinari collaborated with important conductors as: Claudio Abbado,
Sebastiano Rolli, Giovanni Antonini, Adam Fischer, Enrique Mazzola and
Vladimir Ashkenazy.
She has collaborated with Diego Fasolis' Swiss Radio Choir, Gianluca
Capuano's "Il canto di Orfeo", Ruben Jais' "La Verdi Barocca", Giulio
Prandi's "Ghislieri Choir & Consort", Walter Testolin's
"RossoPorpora Ensemble", Antonio Greco's "Cremona Antiqua", Alessandro
Quarta's "Concerto Romano" and Fabio Bonizzoni's "La Risonanza".
In 2016 she recorded for Outhere Music the Mass in D major and the unpublished motet Dignas Laudes by G.B. Pergolesi, under the guidance of Giulio Prandi and the Ghislieri Choir & Consort (2018 Diapason d'or).
She recently made her debut in Johan Adolf Hasse's Enea in Caonia
under the baton of Stefano Montanari (recorded on CD by CPO), and in
the Stradella Young Project, in the Oratorio "Santa Editta", with
Andrea De Carlo's Mare Nostrum ensemble, with enormous success with
critics and audiences, Rossi's Orfeo recorded for Glossa, a series of Baroque concerts at the Purtimiro Festival in Lugo and in Ambronay; Messiah, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater and Missa Solemnis in Cremona, Il trespolo tutore at the Carlo Felice in Genoa and Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda in
Reggio Emilia.
She made her debut at the Festival della Valle d'Itria in Martina
Franca singing Medoro in the first modern performance of Porpora's L'Angelica, under the baton of Federico Maria Sardelli.
Recent engagements include: revival of Hasse's Enea in Caonia in Herne; Jommelli's Requiem in Antwerp; a new production of Il Ritorno di Ulisse in Patria at the Monteverdi Festival in Cremona; a new production of Bononcini's Astarto at the Insbruck Festival, Stefano Montanari conducting and Silvia Paoli directing; Pergolesi's Stabat Mater Turin, Milan and Jesi; Scarlatti's Telemaco in Amsterdam; a series of concerts at the Carnegie Hall in New York, at the Opéra in Rouen, at the Baroque Festival in Rome.
