Mario Cassi
Mario Cassi is a winner of the Toti Dal Monte competition in Treviso and the Zarzuela Prize in the Operalia 2003 competition. Following commitments in the major Italian and European theaters, include: La grotta di Trofonio by Salieri sung and recorded with Christophe Rousset at the Lausanne Opera, Giulio Cesare (Achilla) at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Maria Stuada (Lord Cecil) at the Sferisterio in Macerata, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, The Magic Flute at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège. Of particular interest is Don Pasquale (Dottor Malatesta) under the baton of Riccardo Muti at the Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna and on tour at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and at the Musikverein in Vienna and the debut at Teatro alla Scala in Milan in Pagliacci (Silvio). He recently performed I Due Figaro in Ravenna and Salzburg conducted by Riccardo Muti; Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro conducted by Alberto Zedda; Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro in Liège.
Future plans: I due Figaro in Madrid under Riccardo Muti; L’Elisir d’Amore (Belcore) in Palermo; La Bohème at the Teatro alla Scala; La Cenerentola and Don Carlo in Liège.
