Maria Laura Iacobellis, soprano, graduated in singing with
honor from the Conservatorio in Matera. She then specialized with Claudio
Desderi, Stefania Bonfadelli, Silvia Dalla Benetta, Cinzia Forte, Roberto
De Candia, Alfonso Antoniozzi, Juan Diego Florez, Ernesto Palacio, Stefano
De Luca, Michal Znaniecki.
She stars as Adina and Giannetta (Elisir d’amore), Fanny (La
Cambiale di matrimonio), Serpina (La Serva padrona),
Erighetta (Vinci’s Erigetta and Don Chilone), Donna Anna (Don
Giovanni), Musetta (La Bohème), Corinna and Delia (Il
viaggio a Reims), Nannetta (Falstaff) and in Carmina
Burana.
Thanks to her versatile vocals, she feels at ease in the sacred
repertoire: she sang in the Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Mozart’s Requiem
and Vivaldi’s Gloria.
She won numerous prizes and awards: the first prize at the Matera Città
dei Sassi Competition; the Valerio Gentile Competition; the Magda Olivero
Competition; the first prize and the Rossini award at the Umberto Giordano
Competition; the second prize and public prize at the "Jole De Maria"
Competition; the third prize at the "Salice d’Oro - Faravelli"
Competition; a special mention as a young talent at the "CantoFestival
2015".
In 2015 she debuted as Musetta in La Bohème and Adina in L'Elisir
d'Amore at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari and at the Teatro Lirico
di Cagliari. She won the 69th edition of the "AsLiCo Competition for Young
Opera Singers", singing Nannetta in Falstaff on tour in Italy in
the Circuito Lombardo.
She also attended "Accademia Rossiniana Alberto Zedda" in Pesaro, making
her debut as Corinna and Delia in Il viaggio a Reims at the
Rossini Opera Festival. Corinna is also the role she recently starred for
the Circuito Lirico Lombardo’s theatres.
After Nannetta in Falstaff on the Circuito Marchigiano, she was
engaged at the Festival della Valle d'Itria in Martina Franca in Il
Matrimonio Segreto, as Elisetta, as well as a series of concerts in
Russia and Pesaro, followed by her debut in the character of Liù in Turandot
on tour in Fermo, Fano, Ascoli and Jesi. She returned to Pesaro, where she
again sang Corinna in Il Viaggio a Reims, while in Martina Franca
she starred in Paer's Leonora, in Cagliari in La Vedova
alllegra, in Venice in Rinaldo, and she recently debuted the
role of Donna Anna in Mozart's Don Giovanni in Carpi, Pamina in Die
Zauberfloete in Ancona, Rome and Padua, La Rondine in Jesi
and Pisa, and Clorinda in La Cenerentola in Florence.
Recent concert engagements include: Petite Messe Solennelle in
Montpellier and Bellini's Messa di Gloria in Taranto and Pesaro.
Upcoming engagements include: Norma (Adalgisa) at the Teatro del
Maggio in Florence and Don Pasquale (Norina) at the Opéra Royal de
Wallonie in Liège.
