Marco Ciaponi - Tenor - W Print

Marco Ciaponi was born in 1989 in Barga (Lucca).  He took part as protagonist in the operetta such as Acqua cheta, Il paese dei campanelli e Cin Ci La and in various concerts in Pescara, Monte Silvano, Sanremo, Torino and Bologna. Marco Ciaponi studied singing with Rebecca Berg, then he specialized under the guidance of Giuseppe Sabbatini and at the Accademia Internazionale del Bel Canto in Modena. Mr. Ciaponi is now specializing under the guidance of Cinzia Forte.

Marco Ciaponi is winner of important and prestigiuous Lyric International Contest such as Operalia 2017 ( Zarzuela Prize); Renata Tebaldi International Singing Competition in San Marino (Second Prize); Flaviano Labò International Singing competition 2015 in Piacenza (First Prize);  “Voci Verdiane” International Singing Contest (First Prize) in Busseto.

In May 2008 Mr. Ciaponi made his opera debut as Rodolfo in La Bohème (Puccini) in Portoferraio.  Afterwards he was chosen for the opera studio at the Teatro Goldoni in Livorno for the project Cantiere Lirico. His repertoire includes: Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi (Rinuccio), Verdi’s Rigoletto (Duca di Mantova), La Traviata (Alfredo), I Lombardi alla Prima Crociata (Oronte), Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore (Nemorino), Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Conte d’Almaviva) and Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor.

Among his recent engagements: Tamino in Die Zauberflöte at the Festival Sestola InCanto and at the Teatro Comunale in Modena; Nemorino in L'Elisir d'Amore in Lucca, Piacenza, Ravenna, Mantova and Bari (Fondazione Petruzzelli); Alfredo Germont in La Traviata in Cremona and Milan. He made his debut of Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) in Tirana and then in Trieste, under Gianluigi Gelmetti. He has debuted the role of Malcolm (Macbeth) at Teatro Municipale in Piacenza and Lord Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Opera Giocosa in Savona. Noteworthy his debut at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan in Puccini’s La Fanciulla del West (Trin) under Riccardo Chailly; he sang also as Fenton in Falstaff at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari and Edmondo in Manon Lescaut in Bari.
Widely active also in concerts, his past appearances include: Die Schöpfung in Trieste under G.Gelmetti, the Beethoven’s IX Symphony in Cagliari under Gérard Korsten, at the Fondazione Petruzzelli in Bari and in Milan and Pavia (I Pomeriggi musicali) under Donato Renzetti; Rossini’s Stabat Mater in Warsaw under S. Montanari; a Gala concert in Lecce again with G. Gelmetti with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Lecce e del Salento; a Gala concert beside Leo Nucci in Piacenza and Modena; Rossini’s Stabat Mater in Ravenna under Paolo Olmi.

Most recently he sang as Nemorino in L’Elisir d’amore in Tbilisi; Alfredo in La Traviata in Bologna and on tour in Japan with the Filarmonica; Verdi’s Macbeth first version in Warsaw under the baton of Fabio Biondi and the period instruments ensemble Europa Galante. Mr. Ciaponi has just made his debut at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège singing in Manon Lescaut and Rigoletto (Duca di Mantova) in the As.Li.Co circuit (Pavia, Jesi, Como, Cremona, Brescia, Bergamo). Other recent engagements: Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi in Modena, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia and Ferrara; Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni in Cologne (debut in Germany);  Aronne in Rossini’s Mosè in Egitto at the San Carlo in Naples (under the baton of Stefano Montanari); Rossini’s Stabat Mater at the Tokyo Spring Festival  (Speranza Scappucci conducting); Petite messe solennelle in Ravenna; Duke in Rigoletto and Mozart's Requiem in Toulon.

Plans include: Ferrando in Così fan tutte in Saint- Etienne; Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni in Cagliari; Peppe/Arlecchino in Pagliacci in Amsterdam; Fenton in Falstaff in Piacenza, Modena and Reggio Emilia; Arvino in I Lombardi alla prima crociata in Liège; Nemorino in L'elisir d'amore in Rovigo.

Marco has just made his debut at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin singing La Traviata.
