Marcello Giordani - Mario Cavaradossi*
An
extraordinarily versatile artist, Marcello Giordani has a repertory which
encompasses a wide and diverse range of roles, spanning from the Bel Canto
operas of Rossini, Donizetti and Bellini and the lyricism of French operatic
repertoire, to the more dramatic roles of Verdi, Puccini and Berlioz and, most
recently, the popular Verismo operas of Mascagni and Leoncavallo: Cavalleria
Rusticana and I Pagliacci. Mr. Giordani has established his
international career, performing regularly on the world’s most prestigious
concert stages and opera houses including Teatro alla Scala, Metropolitan,
Covent Garden in London, Opernhaus in Zürich, Wiener Staatsoper, Opéra National
de Paris, Liceu in Barcelona, Deutsche Oper in Berlin, San Francisco Opera,
Houston Grand Opera, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro dell’Opera in Rome,
Teatro Regio in Parma, Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro Massimo “V. Bellini” in
Catania, Arena di Verona, Festival Pucciniano in Torre del Lago, working with
the world’s leading conductors including Daniele Gatti, James Levine, Zubin
Mehta, Antonio Pappano and Georg Solti.
Future
plans include: Pagliacci
at the Teatro Regio in Parma; Tosca in Berlin; Carmen in Dresden
and Munich; Aida at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and in
Seoul; Tosca and Aida at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and
Wiener Staatsoper in Vienna; Un Ballo in Maschera in Hamburg; Turandot in
Bilbao. On the concert side Mr. Giordani will perform series of concerts in
Toronto, Shangai and London (Wigmore Hall) and return to the Metropolitan Opera
in New York engaged in important productions.

Marco Armiliato - conductor
One of the
leading names in the international operatic scene, he is regular guest of the
most prestigious theaters in the world. His recording of verismo arias
with Renée Fleming won a Grammy Award in 2010.
His recent engagements include Anna
Bolena (Metropolitan Opera, New York, opening night of the 2011/12 season), Tosca, Rigoletto,
La Traviata and Turandot (Bavarian State Opera), Aida and Tosca (Arena
di Verona), Ernani, Aida, Francesca da Rimini and Rigoletto (Metropolitan
Opera), La Traviata, Andrea Chénier, La Traviata and Tosca (Vienna
State Opera), Madama Butterfly in Chicago and La Fille du Régiment (Paris
Opéra).
Plans include Sonnambula, Madama Butterfly,
Aida (Metropolitan in New York); Andrea Chénier, L’Elisir d’Amore, Don
Carlo, I Puritani, Manon Lescaut, La Bohème, Roméo et
Juliette, La Traviata, Il Trovatore and Simon Boccanegra (Vienna
State Opera), Lucrezia Borgia (Liceu, Barcelona), Manon Lescaut
(Amsterdam), La Fanciulla del West and La Traviata (Zürich), Faust
(Deutsche Oper Berlin), Rigoletto, La Bohème (Bavarian State
Opera, Munich), Werther (New National Theater, Tokyo), Dom Sébastien
roi de Portugal (Toulouse) and returns to the Metropolitan Opera. M°
Armiliato will perform in concerts in Vienna, Lucerne, Barcelona and Paris.
