Simone Alberghini - Il Conte di Luna*
Italian bass-baritone Simone Alberghini, the 1994 Operalia Grand Prize winner, has
appeared in opera houses at the highest level worldwide since the beginning of his
career. Mr. Alberghini regularly collaborates with internationally renowned conductors
such as Alberto Zedda, Vladimir Jurowski, Riccardo Chailly, Zubin Mehta, Andrew
Davis, Gianandrea Noseda, Seiji Ozawa, Maurizio Benini, Michele Mariotti, Renato
Palumbo, Emmanuel Villaume, Nicola Luisotti, Eduardo Muller and Teodor Currentzis.
Simone Alberghini recently performed in: Guillaume Tell at the Rossini Opera
Festival in Pesaro and at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Michele Mariotti conducting
and Graham Vick directing; Donizetti’s Il furioso all’ isola di San Domingo
at the Donizetti Musica Festival in Bergamo and in Savona, Modena, Ravenna and Piacenza;
L’Elisir d’Amore (Belcore) in Washington; Anna Bolena (Enrico VIII)
at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow; Così fan tutte (Guglielmo) in
Bologna and Firenze; Don Giovanni (title role) at the Perm State Opera under
Teodor Currentzis; La Bohème (Marcello) in Tenerife and in Palermo; Les Contes
d’Hoffmann in Piacenza, Modena, Reggio Emilia and Toulon; La Cenerentola
(Dandini) in Washington, Naples and Göteborg; Mozart’s Requiem in Turin
with the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai; La Gazza Ladra at the Rossini
Opera Festival in Pesaro; Donizetti’s Requiem with the Copenhagen Philharmonic
Orchestra.
Mr. Alberghini starred in the Rada Film opera movie La Cenerentola directed
by Carlo Verdone and conducted by Gianluigi Gelmetti, which has been telecast worldwide.

Enkelejda Shkosa - Azucena
Winner of the International Competition "Lejla Gencer" in Istanbul, she
rapidly established herself as a regular guest in important theatres and festival
such as: Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Teatro Regio in Turin, Opéra de Monte
Carlo, Opéra de Paris, Covent Garden in London, Real in Madrid, Concertgebouw in
Amsterdam, Wiener Staatsoper, Welsh National Opera in Cardiff, Bayerische Staatsoper
in Munich, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Canadian Opera Company, and opera theatres
in Leipzig, Dresden, Bilbao, Lisbon. Mrs Shkosa made her debut at the Metropolitan
Opera in New York as Giulietta in Les Contes d’Hoffmann. Other recent engagements
include: Quicky in Falstaff in Barcelona. Suzuki in Madama Butterfly
at the Opéra de Paris under the baton of Maurizio Benini; Eboli in Don Carlo
in Lisbon; La forza del destino (Preziosilla) at the Gran Teatre de Liceu
in Barcelona; The Makropulos Affair in Florence; Suzuki in Madama Butterfly
and Falstaff (Meg) in Toulouse; Aida in Toulon; Moise et Pharaon
at the Opéra in Marseille; Il Trovatore in Naples and Toulon; Madama Butterfly
and Guillaume Tell at the Covent Garden in London.
Enkelejda Shkosa has collaborated with such conductors as Maurizio Benini, Bruno
Campanella, Riccardo Chailly, Myung-Whun Chung, James Conlon, Colin Davis, Daniele
Gatti, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Daniel Oren, Antonio Pappano, Evelino Pidò, Donato Renzetti,
Marcello Viotti,only to name a few.
Her discography include Rossini’s Otello (Opera Rara), Thaïs and Cavalleria
rusticana (Decca), Béatrice et Bénédict and La damnation de Faust
with the London Symphony Orchestra. She has just recorded La Straniera with
David Perry for Opera Rara. She recorded Madama Butterfly (Suzuki) under
the baton of Antonio Pappano (EMI). For Opera Rara she has just recorded Maria di
Rohan.
Plans include: Il Trovatore at the Teatro Regio in Parma, in Macerata and
in Tel Aviv where she also will perform Verdi’s Requiem as well as in Lisbon;
Falstaff in Naples.

Julian Reynolds - conductor
Conductor of vast experience and sensibility, appreciated both in Italian and
French repertoire, he was assistant to Claudio Abbado and Leonard Bernstein,
later on tying his name to that of Dame Kiri Te Kanawa with whom he regularly
runs international tours. Julian Reynolds has received numerous invitations at
the Staatstheater Stuttgart, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the Wexford Opera
Festival, the Rossini Opera Festival, the Arena in Verona, the Teatro Regio in
Parma and has conducted many orchestras including: the Rotterdam Philharmonic,
the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the
Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Dutch Radio Philharmonic, the Netherlands
Philharmonic. His recording of Ma Mère l’Oye has described by BBC Radio 3
as the best commercial version.
Recent engagements include: Maria Stuarda and La Straniera at the
Tchaikovsky Hall and La Sonnambula at the Bolshoi Theatre, Lucia di
Lammermoor at the Theatre de La Monnaie in Brussels and various lyric
concerts in Seoul.
