Julia Muzychenko is a rising star in both the opera and concert worlds.
She recently won 5th Prize at the Viñas Competition in Barcelona, 1st
Prize at the Clermont Ferrand Competition, 2nd Prize at the Monserrat
Caballe Competition, 2nd Prize at the Golden Willows Competition in
Vienna, 2nd Prize at the Marmande Opera Competition and 2nd Prize at the
Virgilijus Noreika Competition. She has also won the Meistersinger von
Nürnberg Competition (1st place), Voci Verdiane in Busseto, Opera de
Tenerife (1st place), Crescendo International Music at Carnegie Hall (1st
place), Sergei Rachmaninov (1st place) and the Aslico Competition.
Recent successes include: Gilda (Rigoletto) and Nannetta (Falstaff)
at the National Opera of Montpellier; the title role in Lakme at
the Festival Les Nuit Lyriques de Marmande; Oksana (The Night Before
Christmas Eve) at the Oper Frankfurt, which was recorded and
distributed on DVD by Naxos, and was awarded Production of the Year by the
International Opera Awards. She also sang Amina (La Sonnambula) at
the Opera Vichy, Opera Limoges, Opera de Clermont Ferrand, Opera
d'Avignon, Opera-Theatre de Metz Metropole and the Opera de Reims.
Future engagements include: La Traviata (Violetta) in Avignon, in
Florence, in Strasbourg and Mulhouse; Mavra (Parasa) and Gianni
Schicchi (Lauretta) in Florence and Rigoletto (Gilda) at the
Tiroler Festspiele Erl.
Julia was a member of the Junges Ensemble of the Semperoper Dresden,
where she sang roles such as Musetta (La Boheme), Olympia (Les
Contes d'Hoffmann), Sandmännchen/ Taumännchen (Hänsel und Gretel)
and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte).
On stage, she sang in a solo recital at the Shostakovich Hall in St.
Petersburg and participated as soloist in the Advent concert at the
Frauenkirche in Dresden (broadcast by ZDF). She was also selected as
soloist at the famous Semper Opernball 2020.
She also performed in the role of Violetta Valery (La Traviata)
at the Verdi Festival in Busseto, at the Teatro Comunale in Bolzano and at
the Opera de Tenerife. She also sang Norina (Don Pasquale) at the
Opera National de Montepellier; Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus) at the
Hermitage Theatre in St Petersburg.
In 2015, she made her debut at the Mariinsky Theatre as Cinderella in The
True Story of Cinderella, a modern opera by composer Tarnopolsky.
Julia Muzychenko completed her training as a member of the Bolshoi
Theatre's Young Artist program and the Houston Grand Opera's Vocal
Academy. She holds a master's degree in vocal interpretation from the St.
Petersburg Conservatory and the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in
Berlin.
