Grazia Doronzio - Mimì
Italian soprano Grazia Doronzio is a recent graduate of the Metropolitan Opera’s prestigious LindemannYoung Artist Development Program.
The 2013-2014 season sees her return to Oper Frankfurt as Mimì in La Bohème, Nannetta in Falstaff followed by her house debut as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte with the Hamburgische Staatsoper. Last season, Ms. Doronzio returned to Michigan Opera Theater for Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, followed by an important debut with Oper Frankfurt as Suzel in L’amico Frtiz. In the spring of 2012 she performed Mimì in La Bohème with Angers Nantes Opéra, Anna in a concert performance of Puccini’s Le Villi at the Konzerthaus, Dortmund, Liù in Turandot with Seattle Opera (debut) and followed by Pamina in Die Zauberflöte at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia. Mrs Doronzio has recently gained great success as Mimì in La Bohème at the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto, ad Adina in L'Elisir d'Amore at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples and as Zerlina in Don Giovanni in Milwaukee.
Plans include: Medea in Géneve; Le Nozze di Figaro at the Teatro Regio in Turin; Die Zauberflöte (Pamina) in Lausanne; Bohème con la German Radio Symphony Orchestra di Saarbrücken.
Gianluca Buratto - Colline
A noble and round voice, Gianluca Buratto is rapidly establishing himself as one of his most versatile basses of his generation. His recent engagements include: Bach’s B minor Mass with Savall in Madrid and Barcelona, both Mozart and Jommelli’s Betulia liberata with Muti in Salzburg and Ravenna and in Wroclaw under Rovaris; Mercadante’s Virginia and La Bohème at the Wexford Opera Festival; Ambrosini’s Il Killer di Parole (world premiere), La Bohème and Rigoletto in Venice; Mozart’s Mass in C minor KV 427 at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome with Nagano and in Cagliari; Bach’s Johannes-Passion with Lopez-Banzo in Spain and Germany; Macbeth with Muti at the Salzburg Festival, Rome and Chicago; Solbiati’s La Leggenda (world premiere) in Turin with Noseda; Le Nozze di Figaro (Bartolo) in Barcelona with Rousset; L’Incoronazione di Poppea (Seneca) at the Innsbruck Festival; La Bohème (under the baton of Chailly) and I Due Foscari in Valencia; Macbeth at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan; Rota’s Mysterium in Naples and Rome; Rigoletto at the Carlo Felice in Genoa under Luisi; Handel’s Rinaldo and Admeto at the Theater an der Wien; Rota’s Il cappello di paglia di Firenze at the Maggio Musicale in Florence; Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo with Christophe Rousset and Les Talens Lyriques in Nancy; La Bohème at the Terme di Caracalla in Rome.
Future plans: Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo at the Salle Pleyel in Paris under Christophe Rousset; I Puritani at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino; Rigoletto at the Festival Internacional de Musica de Bogotà; Die Zauberflöte in Liège.
