Emanuele Cordaro - Bass - W Print

Emanuele Cordaro was born in Catania in 1987 and perfected his singing skills with internationally renowned teachers such as Mariella Devia, Marcello Giordani, Marcello Lippi and Bonaldo Giaiotti.

He has participated in several international competitions, obtaining important prizes and recognitions, including: Operalia 2017 held in Astana (finalist); the 'Marcello Giordani' International Opera Competition (winner of the role of Pistola in Falstaff, role debut at the Teatro della Fortuna in Fano).

He made his debut in 2011 playing Masetto in Don Giovanni staged at the Teatro Italia in Rome. He then began performing in the most important Italian theatres.

Past engagements include: Giovanna d'Arco (Talbot) at the Festival della Valle d'Itria in Martina Franca; La Forza del destino (Marchese di Calatrava) at the Teatro Verdi in Pisa; Rigoletto (Sparafucile) at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, at the Teatro Aurora in Gozo and with Opera Zuid; Le Nozze di Figaro (Bartolo) at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa and at the Opera di Roma; La Bohème (Colline) in Genoa and with Opera Zuid on tour in Holland; Il Trovatore (Ferrando) in Gozo (Malta) and at the Lirico di Cagliari; Anna Bolena (Lord Rochefort) at the Teatro Bellini di Catania; Don Giovanni (Masetto) at the Teatro Verdi di Salerno; Falstaff (Pistola) in Cagliari; Tosca in Sanxay; Un Ballo in Maschera for the opening of the season at the Regio di Parma; and Verdi's Requiem at the Loyola University Museum of Art in Chicago and in the Duomo di Milano; Manon Lescaut (Geronte) in Catania; Madama Butterfly (Uncle Bonzo) in Lecce; La Traviata and Tosca in Tokyo with the Teatro Massimo in Palermo. He was also Jorg in Verdi's Stiffelio at the Teatro Farnese in Parma in Graham Vick's acclaimed new production as part of the 2017 Verdi Festival; Melcthal in Guillaume Tell in Palermo; Tom in Un ballo in Maschera in Nancy and Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro and Thamos in Palermo; Le Nozze di Figaro at the Teatro del Maggio in Florence; Don Giovanni at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome; Un Ballo in Maschera at La Scala in Milan. He was engaged in the world premiere of Salvatore Sciarrino's new opera Ti vedo, ti sento, mi perdo at La Scala in Milan, later staged at the Staatsoper in Berlin. Also at La Scala, he has just taken part in productions of Manon Lescaut and Idomeneo.

More recently, he played: Bartolo in Le Nozze di Figaro, Sam in Un Ballo in Maschera, Dott. Grenvil in La Traviata and Walinoff in Siberia at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino; Alidoro in La Cenerentola at the Massimo in Palermo; Banco in Macbeth in Cagliari; he also took part in the production of Nabucco in Amsterdam; Alzira and Rigoletto in Bilbao; Il Pirata at the San Carlo in Naples; I Capuleti e Montecchi in Trieste and Verona; I due Foscari at the Sala Gaveu in Paris; I Vespri siciliani in Turin; Così fan tutte in Jesi and Modena; Aida in Rouen; and Il Corsaro in Bari.

He sang in the Petite Messe Solennelle in Palermo, Amsterdam and Berlin.

Upcoming projects include Monterone in Rigoletto at the Regio di Torino; Re Riccardo in Dall'Ongaro's Robin Hood at the Royal Opera House in Muscat; and Lodovico in Verdi's Otello at the Teatro Regio in Parma.
