Claudia began singing at the age of seven, joining the renowned Pueri Cantores children’s choir in Vicenza under the direction of Maestro Roberto Fioretto. She graduated with honors from the Agostino Steffani Conservatory in Castelfranco Veneto and quickly distinguished herself by winning numerous prestigious national and international opera competitions. Her stage debut took place in February 2014, when she portrayed Gasparina in Wolf-Ferrari’s Il Campiello at the Teatro Sociale in Rovigo and the Teatro Malibran in Venice.
A pivotal moment in her career came when she was noticed by Maestro Riccardo Muti, who cast her as Violetta Valéry in La Traviata. This opportunity not only marked her official entrance into the operatic world but also cemented a deep artistic connection with Verdi’s iconic heroine.
Claudia’s portrayal of Violetta has received widespread acclaim from audiences and critics alike in Italy’s most prestigious opera houses, including La Fenice in Venice, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, and Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania. She has performed under the baton of esteemed conductors such as Francesco Ivan Ciampa, Giacomo Sagripanti, Michele Spotti, Sebastiano Rolli, Stefano Ranzani, Jordi Bernacer, Sesto Quatrini, and Francesco Lanzillotta.
Notable productions include La Traviata co-produced by Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia, Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti, and Opera Lombardia, directed by filmmaker Alice Rohrwacher with costumes by Miuccia Prada; the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma production directed by Sofia Coppola, featuring costumes by Valentino Garavani; the evocative Traviata of Mirrors at the Macerata Opera Festival, directed by Henning Brockhaus and conducted by Paolo Bortolameolli (also released on DVD); David McVicar’s emotionally charged staging conducted by Andrés Salado; and the Teatro di San Carlo production directed by acclaimed filmmaker Ferzan Özpetek and conducted by Maestro Francesco Ivan Ciampa.
Expanding her repertoire rapidly, Claudia has embodied several leading roles, including Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto — notably for the season opening at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma under the baton of Maestro Daniele Gatti, directed by Daniele Abbado, as well as in Macerata under the baton of Gianpaolo Bisanti. Her interpretation in Damiano Michieletto’s production at La Fenice, which won the 2022 Franco Abbiati Prize, remains particularly remarkable. Other notable roles include Adalgisa in Bellini’s Norma; Adina in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’amore (in Victor Garcia Sierra’s production, inspired by Fernando Botero’s El Circo); Norina in Don Pasquale at Teatro Pérez Galdós in Las Palmas (where she also debuted as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte); Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni (including a performance conducted by Jonathan Webb in Michieletto’s production) and Donna Anna (in Roland Schwab’s production at Deutsche Oper Berlin); Liù in Puccini’s Turandot (at the Shanghai Grand Theatre); Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen (notably in Calixto Bieito’s staging conducted by Myung-Whun Chung, and at the Sydney Opera House); Juliette in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette (at Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, in Éric Ruf’s production with costumes by Christian Lacroix, conducted by Jordi Bernacer); Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow; Mimì in La Bohème (including her debut at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, as well as productions at La Fenice, the Semperoper Dresden, and Teatro Pérez Galdós in Las Palmas); Magda in Puccini’s La Rondine (debuting at Teatro Verdi in Pisa under Maestro Valerio Galli); Nedda in Pagliacci; Madama Butterfly (including the season opening at Teatro Municipale di Piacenza under the legendary direction of Leo Nucci); Cleopatra in Handel’s Giulio Cesare in Egitto, and the title role in Norma, both premiered at Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse.
Praised for her “extraordinarily beautiful voice” (GB Opera Magazine), Claudia has graced some of the most prestigious theaters and festivals across Italy and beyond. Her international engagements have brought her to Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Kobe, Kyoto), Spain, China, Russia (St. Petersburg Palace Music Festival), Australia, India, and Canada. She participated in the official celebration of the 1600th anniversary of Venice’s founding in Piazza San Marco, performing with the orchestra and chorus of Teatro La Fenice under the direction of Maestros Riccardo Frizza and Daniele Callegari. During the Puccini centenary celebrations, she was the featured soprano in several commemorative concerts organized in collaboration with the Puccini Foundation of Torre del Lago, including performances at the International Centre in New Delhi (hosted by the Italian Cultural Institute) and at the Italian Embassy in Ottawa, Canada.
Among her upcoming engagements are: Petite Messe Solennelle in Istanbul; Pierre de Medicis in Krakow and at the Rossini Festival in Wildbad; Ein Deutsches Requiem in Vicenza; a lyrical gala at the Bellini Festival in Catania; Turandot in China; Don Giovanni in Piacenza; and Norma in Metz.
