Bruno Taddia - Baritone - W Print

Born in Pavia, he graduated in Aesthetic philosophy with honours from the University of Milan, graduated in violin at the Genoa Conservatory with Giulio Franzetti, attended the Experimental Composition course with Bruno Zanolini at the Milan Conservatory and studied singing with Paolo Montarsolo.

After his initial activity as a violinist, he made his debut in 2001 at the Rossini Opera Festival in the role of Don Alvaro in Il viaggio a Reims. After winning the AsLiCo Competition, he performed L'Italiana in Algeri (Taddeo) in the theatres of the Circuito Lirico Lombardo. Since then, he has been invited to perform in the most prestigious theatres in Italy and abroad.

Among his most recent successes Donizetti's Bastarda (in the role of Nottingham) at the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels; Gianni Schicchi (title role) with John Axelrod and Rihm's Jacob Lenz (title role) with Marco Angius at the Torre del Lago Festival; Vivaldi's Bajazet (title role) recorded on CD with the Accademia Bizantina and Ottavio Dantone and then staged at the Theater an der Wien, Hamburg and theatres in Emilia Romagna; Iphigénie en Tauride (Oreste) with Diego Fasolis for OperaLombardia; La fille du régiment (Sulpice) and L'elisir d'amore (Belcore) in Cagliari; Don Pasquale (Malatesta) in Trieste; Il ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria (Iro) with Ottavio Dantone in Cremona; Haydn's La fedeltà premiata (Conte Perrucchetto) in Herne and on CD with Andreas Spering; Il barbiere di Siviglia in Nancy (in the role of Bartolo) and in Denver, Florence and Geneva (in the role of Figaro); Falstaff (title role) and Don Pasquale (title role) in Montpellier; Krenek's Der Diktator and Ullmann's Der Kaiser von Atlantis in Tenerife; Vinci's Il malato immaginario and Sellitti's La vedova ingegnosa at the Festival della Valle d'Itria in Martina Franca;Madama Butterfly (Sharpless) in Torre del Lago and Tokyo; Vivaldi's Bajazet with Accademia Bizantina and Ottavio Dantone in Barcelona; Don Giovanni (title role) in Denver; La Bohème (Marcello) in Cagliari and Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas al Comunale di Bologna e Reggio Emilia.

He has collaborated with directors such as Dario Fo, Mario Martone, Ermanno Olmi, Pierluigi Pizzi, Emilio Sagi, Alfred Kirchner, Damiano Michieletto, Valentina Carrasco.
