Winner of
numerous international competitions including Operalia and Viñas, he made his
debut with Elisir d'Amore in Caracas and later with Macbeth in Las
Palmas de Gran Canaria. Among his most successful interpretations: La
Traviata (Bilbao, Cagliari), Rigoletto (Nice, Verona), Macbeth
(Valencia), La Bohème (Madrid, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Washington), Lucia
di Lammermoor (Las Palmas, Bilbao), Faust (Nice), Der
Rosenkavalier (Vienna), Les Contes d'Hoffmann (Seville and Rome),
Luisa Miller (Naples), Les Troyens (London Symphony Orchestra). In
recent years he discovered a more dramatic repertoire with Tosca
(Naples), Un Ballo in Maschera (Liége) and Simone Boccanegra
(Berlin and Barcellona).
He has
recently interpreted Don Alvaro in La Forza del Destino at the Teatro
Regio in Parma under the baton of Gianluigi Gelmetti with great success of both
public and critics; La Gioconda in Palermo; I Due Foscari in Las
Palmas; Lucia di Lammermoor in Trieste; La Bohème in Torre del
Lago and in Florence; Verdi's Requiem in Copenaghen and Moscow; and
Norma in Taormina and Oviedo.
His future
plans include: Roméo
et Juliette in Liège; La Traviata in Florence; Norma in Turin;
Tosca in Beijing; Carmen in Las Palmas; Don Carlo in
Tenerife; I Masnadieri in Naples and Simon Boccanegra in Zurich.
